Cutscene skipping

During the pre-rendered cutscenes, the video skips ahead a few frames every 3-5 seconds. Now this is a little annoying in the first place, but the audio still plays at normal speed, so shortly into each cutscene, the audio is far behind the video. Always great hearing someone's death scream half a minute after they've died.

Not exactly game-breaking, but it does ruin a lot of the more cinematic moments. My geforce 8800 GTX currently has the most up to date drivers. Anyone happen to have any solutions to this little problem?

Hey dude,

I too have just started getting this issue (or similar)

I am in Redcliffe castle and have just entered the Main Floor. The (SPOILER - ish) 1st cut scene with the boy was fine and I have had no issues, but the cut scene after skips audio and video and then gets SO Slow I have to exit the program!

Anyone got any ideas as to why?

It doesnt seem like a driver issue as the other cut scenes have been working!

I have the patch installed and everything was fine for the 1st few hours of game play

My system can handle the workload - as has done so far in the game when MORE NPC's were running about!

(SPOILER - ish) I freed the guy in the dungeon who did the poisoning and it seems to get clunky just before he arrives!

- Going to try a 3rd attempt!

Any ideas anyone??????

Which version of the drivers are you running, Enzee?

Also by any chance, do you have any codec packs installed? or a piece of software called ffdshow?

One last thing. Another forum poster solved his cut scene slowing issues by defragging the HD the game was installed on.

Do you have the Party Chest full of items? That appeared to have been my cause!

I fixed it by updating my drivers. Lots of posts though of folks having syncing issues with video and speaking using GeForce 8800 cards. 9800 GTX for myself here.

I've also been having problems with framerate and the game slowing down to a crawl and freezing during cutscenes. I started the game just fine, and after 30 minutes or so of playing I can't get through a cutscene - I have to exit to desktop and close the game with the Task manager.

My system specs are:

Intel® Core 2Duo CPU E4600 V2.40 GHz

3,25 GB of Ram

Nvidia GForce 9800 GT

I've updated my drivers, defragmented the drive where Dragon Age is installed, even tried the advice about setting the task manager (processes) by clicking off all cores but one (I checked, my CPU usage was at 100% during these problems). I even lowered all video settings to 'low', disabled all advanced settings and still, I can't get through that damn cutscene. My game freezes.

Can anyone help me?

I had similar issues yesterday..the game ran perfectly fine maxed since launch. Then all of a sudden cutscenes started massive slowdowns. I had to alt tab and kill the game. It took me 6 hours to figure out the issue, and I did everything you can think of. Roll back drivers, update windows, update sound, disable sound, revert to lowest in game settings nothing worked!

My fix was re-installing the game, only checking save game files option and not the settings option. I had to re-install it twice though. I pin pointed the issue to 3 things, save files corrupted, DLC content messed up, or the chest posted by the developer. I also unchecked my profile uploads in the game, before I started it up. By the way I don't use that camp chest anymore just in case.   I'm back to running like butter again!

Errr... yes, I used Core 1.

I'll try reinstalling and we'll see how it goes.
