How to overcome the Silverite Mine Equipment lost bug [SOLUTION]

Condition 1 is CHARACTER RESTRICTED Items.
For example: If your warden or companion is equipped with a restricted item such as Warden's Oath which can only be equipped by your warden that you created, or have Anders equipped with his Fox Pendant or other characters using unique items which only they can be equipped with.
This will cause the bug to trigger.
Condition 2: Specialization Restricted items
Similar to condition 1 but this time its Specializations items like TEMPLAR's Armor and etc.
Condition 3: You're an Arcane warrior.
The bug always occurs on an arcane warrior. Strip all your arcane warriors of their equipment and enter the mine.
I hope it helps.

Thank you! I'd figured out that the Keening Blade was causing the problems but I had no idea why. This will save a lot of trial and error (and reloads) in the future.

Nice...now I would like a more technical answer as to why they CAN'T fix it...
I don't know
So far from a crap load of trial and error from entering the silverite mines, i found this 3 conditions so far that trigger the bug.
The bug could be due to the Ghouls themselves, they get minimum stats to wear the strongest armour in game but they seem to not copy your specializations.

And before I knew about the conversation option where Velanna's sister would give you the key, I totally rekitted three characters. PITA time, let me tell you. Nothing like having to fight those dragon thralls in mismatched, piecemeal gear. I still prevailed! hehehe

It appears that the bug is triggered by the experimental subject's inability to equip items your character or their companions currently have equipped. If all cases above can't be caught, fall back to have anything that cannot be equipped by the experimental subjects just be deposited in the chest instead.
Essentially, have the experimental subjects copy the characters and their specializations more accurately. I can't see how this wasn't caught in testing, since almost every properly equipped character would have at least one of the conflicting items equipped at the time they enter the mines, and an entire character specialization always encounters the bug, but stuff happens and this game is frigging huge. I just hope a fix is put out soon.
Thanks BioWare for your hard work in making such an awesome game!

The bigger question is why this, Shale's Rock Barrage, and some other 1.03/Awakening breakage were not on the "fix list" for 1.04. Hopefully Nathan W. has both enough info and enough internal support to work on a 1.05 patch and get it out in less than three months.

It is far more likely that they *can* fix it, but only on the PC. In order to fix it on the consoles they would have to get MS and Sony to test the fix and push out another update and that is apparently something they can't do, don't want to do or can't get the money/approval from the publisher to do. Because they can't do it on all three platforms, they won't do it for any of them. Don't you just love it?

This should be a much simpler fix--there are NPCs in-game (e.g. Gorim in DN origin) who have gear equipped that they don't have the attributes to use. (Found this out the first time I switched Gorim to a ranged weapon...) So, there *is* a way to override the "can X use Y" checks for equipment.

I don't think QA is Nathan Willis's main job, or it is something he does when he has time. Nevertheless, he is the *only* Bioware employee to make this effort, even after Wachter promised better communication back in March and April. Many of the issues that remained unaddressed in the 1.04 patch suggest a much more troubling likelyhood that Bioware is either ignorant of these issues or uninterested/unwilling/unable to make them a priority. This does not bode well for community members, the future of Dragon Age or the prospects of DA2.

I had a good reputation with you, Bioware's lots. That's the end of it, after all the troubles with all your games (mass effect 3 crappy finale, SWToR's going mindlessly and now THIS).
I guess i'm not gonna try anything more this game company offers. No answers, no solutions. Just lack of care.
Thanks for appreciating my money that much. Farewell, Bioware.
