So the Chantry fell to pieces in 10 years since DA:O, and two people are trying to figure out this Hawke character's story...

I think the Chantry's woes may have been created by Flemeth and/or Morrigan and the god-child. Both Flemeth and Morrigan dislike the Chantry (I believe), but they must be working to destroy it in different ways for different reasons (after the whole "morrigan figures flemeth out and wants her killed by the Warden"). Also, Hawke may be the reason behind it as well, considering he is such an important part of the Dragon Age. OR, if he disagrees with the Chantry's destruction, the two looking for him might believe that he is the one that can help out in the Chantry's time of need. (this is merely speculation)

I'm worried, though, about the narrative. If it is told and the truth is stretched by those who tell it, how are we playing our own story? We would just be playing the over-the-top description of what Hawke did the previous 10 years, so from the sound of it, how can the story truly be made our own? We're instead making a "tall tale" that may or may not be true.

I just hope it's narrated vaguely. For example; "And then Hawke met "blah blah" " and then the story is back in you'r hands instead of "And then Hawke met "blah blah", they talked for a bit, hugged and parted ways".

Yeah, an obtrusive narrator that keeps butting in to the story while I'm supposed to be playing as Hawke would be so annoying. Hopefully the only time we hear the narrator speak is when he is setting up the scene to Cassandra. I really don't want to hear any booming narrator voice when I'm playing as Hawke.
