I find most of Martin's or Eriksons books really frustrating - they are pretty indicative of where fantasy is at the moment. Long 800+ books with no reall plot. Both of them started well - the first books were great, original, dark and well written. But by the time you get to the last few books they have deteriorated so much that you can't get past the appalling writing, editing and the plot holes in Eriksons books are absurd. Again, it's a shame - they both promised so much... Makes me wish more people followed Zelazny's style of writing. Short, concise and oh so beautifully written...

Yea, that series is gritty, cold, merciless and chunk full of twists and hidden plans.

I'm still waiting for his next book to come out :-(
