So far from what little we have heard of DA2 it looks like playing evil is going to be lots of fun........
the Chantry is going to be falling
the world is on the brink of war
companions can gain bonuses this time  by you being evil
Kirkwall has a very complicated history
10 year time span leaves lots of time to wreck havoc and betray npcs...........
Who is going to play Evil Hawke and what are some choices you are hoping to have him/her make? this is all for purely fun speculation of what you would like do as evil Hawke.
Since the Chantry is going to fall I am hoping to have a mage apostate uprising and spread chaos.......
Also do you think we will get any evil companions..while DAO had some ambigious companions I wouldn't say any of them were evil....do you think we have some evil friends for DA2........
(On a side note I usually always play good characters but the potential for playing evil for DA2 seems like a lot of fun, especially since my Warden was so nice and kind)

Personally I think "ambiguous," as you say, rather than "evil," is what they are going for in this series.

If the game plays like the original DA:O, I'll be alternating my "good" and "evil" roles between games, so I'll definitely be playing "evil". Of course, I also hope there continues to be moral ambiguity rather than the strict alignment archetypes. What I do will depend entirely on the circumstances. Playing "evil", I usually just do the opposite of what I would normally do in a situation, although smart-evil is better than psychopathic-evil. That is, I'd rather be a charismatic, self-centered, greedy, sort of evil than slay everything sort of evil.

I want to roleplay Hawke as a machiavellian power craving bastard.

Let's kill everybody and drink blood evil is just sooo boring.

Oh, my first playthrough will be definitely as evil mage. You know, mad, bloodthirsty evil. I suppose I'll take the opportunity to kill Hawke's sister, but I do not yet know what type of character she is. If she's an evil mage, who approves of good old bloodbath and slaughter of the innocents, then I'll probably keep her as my sidekick.

Every evil mage needs a sidekick.

And why mage? Because nothing warms the heart such as good old setting peasants on fire!

Yes smart evil is better.....I hope to play an evil mad, power hungry mage that rises to power which is significant as mages aren't normally allowed power in the DA world....also to Lord Gremlin I would love to have Bethany be my evil side kick to....if not than.....perhaps she will "disappear" bwahaha

ALthough after I do my original evil run-through I do plan to play the game again as kind Hawke.....

Hmmm I hope Blood magic is in this game for my evil Hawke to toy with.......

I just hope my evil character can start a holy war against the Chantry so I can burn it to the ground. And I would have loved that dialogue option Khayness when Cousland ran into Arl Howe in the dungeon.

so many evil mages are being planned... :o

I think I will become an extremist templar ala Cullen, and take a leaf out of the Qunari book by keeping mages on leashes.

This will likely give me a completely in-character reason to slaughter my sister like the tainted abomination she is >:D

That has lots of evil potential as well... the Chantry being used a front to persecute mages, especially since the templars run Kirkwall......who knows the end of DA2 could lead to an Exalted March......however, my mage will be on the opposing side that plans to crush the Chantry

DA2 story seems to be more personal, less about saving kittens so yeh... there's a lot of EEEEVIL potential in it. Bwahahahaha!

I hope Bioware will use this opportunity.

I wonder how really evil one can be, I hope the edges won't be rounded in the choices and dialogue, I play atleast once every RPG where it is possible in the most vile way possible

Sadly, times of burning kids and summoning demons inside of cities are gone.

Damn, you even have to be hero in Bioware games since Mass Effect -_-
