I agree that, whatever the original intentions might have been quarian design, the fact that one has been made a romantic interest probably will influence the final design to appear more appealing to a broader audience. Still, since their design hasn't been officially released in any form, I can still look to the less human concepts to fill my imagination.

Interesting thread, I still wonder why they never really had the appearance of females of different species in the game, definitely would've made it more realistic.

yes but your thinking from a mamalian point of view most amphibians have internal reproductive organs and there is little difference other than size and coloring
