I believe there servers really couldn't handle the load so they've made a change in v1.04 which will (as a part of the patch installation process) turn off uploading pictures to the Bioware servers alleviating some of the load hopefully, depending on how many people turn that feature back on.

I was able to the DA servers before as well, playing bioth Origins and Awakening but now I can only connect to the DA servers some of the time. Contacted EA's customer service about this and they said it had something to do with my wireless router. I haven't changed my hardware configuration on my Xbox from before so how can it be my hardware??

Their tech support told me I need to turn off my Windows fire wall and I am playing it on Xbox 360.Why cant I just be able to have the DLC on my xbox and not have to connect to a server to play a single player game?

You can, but you'll need to be connected to the DA servers once in order to download everything you need for offline play. It's important to make things inconvenient for legitimate users or the pirates win.

I don't get an error, it just says they are temporarily unavailable and to try again later.

I played the game a lot when I got it, then stopped from March 2 until July 20th, When I resumed playing, and ever since then, several times each week, I have never successfully connected to the DA servers.

I went and cleared my HD cache, and it redownloaded whatever the current patch is (is there a way to check my patch level), but still never connects to the server.

I am able to load/save games and play fine, including my DLC, just can't hit the servers... for example, if I want to get additional DLC or update my stats on this web site.

check to see if any other EA games have same problem. For example if Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age, and NHL10 all wont connect and you are using XBox 360 try this easy solution that just worked for me: go into XBox 360 system setting and check your time. If you find the time is off by about 5 minutes or anything else reset to correct time and try your games again. You will probably find that they all connect just fine. Credit goes to PHUBB88 on Mass Effect 2 forum for this solution.

Thanks for the tip. It worked and I can connect to the servers again and got the latest patch and works fine. Glad I didn't listen to EA's customer support. What a waste of time it was communicating with them.

I was almost at the point that I was going to delete my previous save games in both ME2 and DA:O as per EA website fix suggestions. To be honest I just couldnt do it. I love both these games and had several characters per game that I worked on and perfected. I was attached to my characters and couldnt face deleting them. THANK THE MAKER PHub88 posted a message about the XBox 360 time being off by 5 minutes because if I had not seen that then I would have deleted all my characters and possibly for nothing. Correcting the time on the game consol was a much better solution for me than deleting my game saves. I hope this fix continues to help others with the same problem.

just checked some other forums and it seems that everyone with this problem the Xbox Time is exactly 5 minutes ahead and needs to be reset back 5 mins.. Very strange...... I'm just curious but if you have/had this problem was your consol also ahead by exactly 5 minutes? Not sure what causes it just seems very odd....
