How can you tell only hardcore fans are voting?

I don't know. Maybe the people who come here to post for any amount of time count as hardcore fans. Depends on your definition of "hardcore".

 It's remind of me when i was 22  years old and they nerfed my character in Dark age of camelot (MMORPG) .. The dreaded  1.62 patch .

I was so pissed off . I started immediatly to spam the forum and send hate mail to Mark Jacob.All of the berserker united and started a rebellion on the forum .Berserker started to dissapear (actually just the hardcore pissed zerk that was always playing)

Than some day i grew up and i was like

WOW man .. Zerk aren't that BAD .. I can still Kill stuff .. OH MY GOD!!!
That day i grew up.


You think you have the control .. But than you realize you don't have any control .. Than you grow up and you just swallow that hate pill and move on.

Dragon age 2 change are fine with me.Hell actually a lot of their new idea was what i wanted em to do.But there's always people who want to keep that old t-shirt because the new stuff suck.Than the cycle continue and continue .. Than we all be dead in 2012.

It seems the poll results speak for themselves I guess the reason the forums are so full of negativity right now is due to the fact that those who are disappointed are more vocal than those who have faith in Bioware. After checking these forums daily for my next DA2 fix I find it strange that people are calling for a boycott despite the fact there is only about 10 screen-shots and a tiny bit of info about one 10 minute scene! However my anarchistic side  enjoys the chaos of the forums atm as it gives me a lot of entertaining rants to read As a happy side effect of all this chaos at least a lot of the community gets to see the developers and moderators in full swing with witty comebacks and snippets of interesting extra info:O. Well at least Mr Gaider and the rest of the team can rest a little easier after seeing the poll results, proving cooler heads prevail!

I think the point is that it's up to the player to determine the tale that Varric tells, and how he paints the hero. There are elements where the nature of the unreliable narrator comes into play, but I'm leery to get into that at present. Occasional exaggeration isn't meant to replace the fact that, at it's heart, Varric's tale is a true one.

The "boycott" poll (outside of all polls on BSN being extremely unreliable) proves only that even many of those who are not going to buy DA2 or are worried are never going to "boycott" a game company due to said company releasing a game they don't like.

Here are the results of my poll, which again the results should not be considered scientifically nor statistically relevant beyond curiousity, and they show far more unease and uncertainity while many still are content with what we know at this point.  It's more evenly divided than the "boycott" poll would lead you to believe.  At least in the realm of BSN polling.



By this BioWare is safe to assum that over half of those responding are likely to get the game anyway despite what they are doing.  But a sizable minority are uncertain to donwright negative on what's been revealed.
For the record, again, my pick is "I loved Dragon Age: Origins and don't like the direction Dragon Age 2
seems to be taking but I will probably end up getting it anyway."

Seriously .... when was the last time BioWare let you down? Think about it, BioWare and Bad Ass have always gone hand in hand .... not convinced yet? Well, lets take a look.

BioShock     = Bad Ass
DA:O             = Bad Ass
KOTOR         = Bad Ass
NWN             = Bad Ass
Mass Effect  = .... do I really need to keep going?

So, seriously, there track record is pretty good. Now, I enjoy making fun of EA as much as the next gamer, but BioWare ... have some faith guys, they actually listen to there fans.

Well i for one am going to get on release date just like Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 2 and truth be told i like the changes so far especially the voice-over part.

If you look at the numbers you report, your poll only has a fraction of the response received on the original. Also, you didn't include a link to your poll in your post. I haven't seen it, so while I voted on the "boycott" poll linked in this thread, I have had no opportunity to vote in yours. And I would have voted one of the first two options. For how many others is that the case?

I'm still eagerly awaiting for any more news and I owe it to Bioware to give them a fair chance with DA2, but everything I've heard about this game so far has either dissapointed me, or worried me.

I despise the thought of playing the game from a narrators point of view, and if they really have dumbed down on the dialogue like some articles have been stating then it's a huge step in the wrong direction for me.

Don't get me started on the change in visual style either. That really wasn't neccessary.
