Vision and imagination? What have those supposed traits have given us of late? ME2 Shoot them up? The fact that people are still talking about Planescape Torment which was released yeaaaars ago as great example, shows how little vision and imagination has been offered since that time.

yea and every attempt to actually change anything is accompanioned by crowd of "hardcore community fans" who just DONT WANT IT COZ ITS ALL WRONG ... and blah blah ... so if bioware listen to these cry-babies without imagination ... well they strip the game of revolutionary untested changes and looks like people who "listens to community" ... or they ignore "community" and whoa ... we got Boycott here ... cool ...

we all know how hard it is to keep comming with new ideas ... and its even harder if you even dont get chance to test them ... and the worst case scenario is, if the "community" is against them for no reason MONTHS before these changes / inovations are even tried out by the "community"

Some people make a big deal out of nothing, This is Biowares game if you do not want to buy it then tough luck you will only be replaced by someone else that it appeals to.

1.  Bioware's a company,  if they want to continue to get paychecks,  they need to sell games.  If they want to sell games,  they may want to quit turning RPGs into other types of games.  There's a reason why EA ends up folding all the studios they buy,  it's because of things like this.

2.  Wishfull thinking,  one other big company said the same thing recently,  sadly,  they sold less than half of their initial shipment.  Turns out,  there isn't someone else to replace the alienated customers..

Or, alternatively, DA2 sells like hotcakes and Bio survive to another day.

Either way, how is this exactly different from any other company developing games...?

I'm definetly not boycotting it, if it improves over DA: O as much as ME2 did ME1, it will be amazing.

I thank you dramatic "SHUN BIOWARE!" folks for making my mornings very exciting. And if you are in the chicago area, please do join me during my morning routine boycotting Bioware's DA2. I start dancing at 7:30 AM. Thanks!

I expect YouTube coverage, missy.

The police said I needed a permit. Therefore, I planned to first protest the police, and then eventually segue into my Bioware protest. I thought up this elaborate modern jazz ballet number that morphs tastefully into Bollywood dancing while retaining the spirit fingers throughout.

However, since I am incorporating two different styles instead of pure Bollywood, it is inevitable that  passer by's will yell at me for ruining the essence of dance and pelt me with feces.

Most likely. Who are more numerous-the RPG games who like Baldur's Gate, or console clickers who like God of War?

You know what? It's times like this that we should heed the words of my hero, Moderator Javier *clears throat*

".......If you play DA2, you WILL play as a Human, his last name WILL be Hawke, and he WILL be fully voiced." That is all, thank you :)

Yes...Yes I am...Until the haters quit whining and understand that no matter how much they complain...The game is going this direction and they have two choices:

A.) Not buy the game (which WONT hurt their profits in the least I can almost certainly assure you.)

B.) Play the game and enjoy it for what it is becoming.  Both options involve the ceasing of the mindless whining and complaining people are doing over the game. Image IPB

Ah, I see.
Well I suppose that's a good enough reason to continue then. :P

Oh, good luck.

So let me get this straight, you think that people "not" buying the game won't hurt profitability..?

That's right...because there arent enough of you who hate the game globally to hurt their profits...Because for every one of the "hardcore DA: O" fans they lose, they'll most likely gain at LEAST 1-2 from the ME universe side that didnt play the first game :)...The numbers in that scenario balance out

It's a win win for BW really for two reasons:

A.)They weed out the whiners that are complaining about the direction of the franchise.
B.) They gain a new fanbase.Image IPB

Not boycotting, but waiting on reviews/the reactions of early players. If those are positive, I won't wait for the price to drop though.

To be fair, those number are completely arbitarary.

But for all the protests going on, we also don't know the real number of disaffected people, nor do we know whether - in 7 months or so - the news about the game will have changed their mind or not.

This whole business of telling the future is hard.

Arbitrary yes....But a very likely scenario none the less...EVERY business operates that way.  Whether it's BP or Sony/Square Enix (The latter has a class action law suit on them right now btw for their PS3 copies of FFXIII literally breaking consoles.)

But I agree, telling the future is hard.  But I am very confident in my powers of deduction Image IPB

take a look at the old da forums. same whining happened back then about dao not being baldur's gate-like enough. whining about becoming too modern, too graphics oriented, people slamming it as nothing like the bg series. most complainers will buy the game. they bought dao too.
