Yes. Because 'evolving' and 'turning into a completely different kind of game' mean exactly the same thing.

But to some people they feel it isn't turning into a completely different kind of game, because that is a matter of perspective. 

You know she was being sarcastic, right? Evolving means leaving alone all the GOOD qualities in a game and finding ways to fix the bad things.

Yes, I know she was being sarcastic. I just felt that she was saying that DA2 was turning into a completely different kind of game, and based my comment off of that.

tell me about it you cant really boycott a game especially in a forum because believe it or not there are a alot more people who like the games idea that dont even visit the forums lol so it would be a minority lol. just dont buy the thing if ya hate it that much then you can just miss out on another possible blockbuster game.

So you agree that everything we've seen so far amounts to nothing. It's worthless. It's not even a surprise what they're trying to do, but just a logical extreme of everything that could be made bad (making it "darker"/"mature", more mainstream-oriented, totally failing at coming up with original or interesting designs). And then they want to be rewarded for the attitude of  "this probably sucks, but we don't care, we're Bioware!".

I'm not entirely happy with Bioware's new direction in the franchise my interest in the game itself has dropped there are two other games coming out soon rather similar to Dragon Age 2 outside the Bioware name its not exactly sticking out against the crowd. It no doubt will still be a good game and I will eventually play it, though I likely won't buy it right away.

I think "boycott" is the wrong term. I did not enjoy the DLCs or the expansion very much so I stopped buying more downloadable content relating to DA:O, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to "boycott" Bioware... Dragon Age Origins took something like five years to create, and it showed. That game was a masterpiece. EDIT: I like everything I'm seeing about DA:2 so far. So I'll definitely pick it up when it comes out. I would like to see how the story continues.

Because the combat is exactly like DAO but faster and more fluid. Your concerns are unfounded and irrational.

Why make such a 'stand' when there's a demo coming out in a few weeks? You can try it completely free and see for yourself instead of deciding in your head how it's going to be.



I'll admit much of the direction DA2 has picked wasn't to my preferences, but at least I'm willing to let them prove me right...or incredibly wrong.
