"Dwell not on the first pebble, when the mountain remains unclimbed."

A wise man told me that once.

I think Mr.Gaider has spent alot of his time that he should be spending on making DA2 defending it from jumped conclusions and knee jerk reactions.

I may be wrong, but I think Gaider mentioned before that he just posts here in his free time. Priestly might give him the switch again if he's caught wasting time here during work hours.

ROFL, please Mr. Priestly sir no more beating on the nice Mr. Gaider.

I'm losing faithg in reviews anymore. I'd rather see a demo.

I hate to say it, but yeah, proper reviewing is a lost art. I mean look at the constant praise of MW2.

"The visuals are stunning, remarkable"
- Same visuals as MW.

"The gameplay has vastly improved over the predecessor, ensuring quality gaming whenever you play."
- They added a throwing knife and a few different perks.

"The voice acting is the best in the business"
- Speaks for itself.

"Best multiplayer game. EVER."
- Horrible lag, loads of problems that weren't fixed months in (and some still persist) and the entire server ordeal with PC.

Copy paste that with any popular FPS game that comes out.

Pretty much reviewers are paid to say good things!

NEED DEMO.A proper one that shows off all aspects of the game.

This is true, and there was even a study where they gave a group of people a completely crap game, but let them read the reviews about it, they wanted to buy the crap game. Not saying that DA2 will be, but I do like to test drive something that costs more then a dinner for 4 at the Olive Garden.

I tend to love games when I don't read reviews, yet when I listen to them I notice all their flaws and I don't enjoy them as much as I used to.

The obvious missing option is "I will make a decision based on the game when it's released, at the very least, not a year before."

That would be great - a proper demo (instead of a Hawke character creator :innocent:)

anyway 'I like what I see' vote of confidence and already prerdered
the 'By All Means Nessecery' (see official da 2 promo page) sequel.

Why do you want more of that? It would just be more of the same. We've been there done that its time to move on to another country with new people.

More to do with the first game. What became of everyone? What happened to Morrigan? Maybe my character that I made goes to the Free Marches? Also, when I said more to do with the first game, it also meant character creation, dwarf, elf, and human. We have no choice in DA2.

I don't understand why there is so much hostility from some people about a game that is not even released yet. As others have said, why not reserve our judgment until it's out? The devs must have nerves of steel after having to read some of the vitriol that goes on in these forums...

Then why have forums at all?

I am not saying DA2 will be a bad game, I am just saying it is not really a sequel. Call it by another name, but don't call it a sequel. No Grey Wardens? That is like making a Star Wars sequel with no Jedi.

Wait, there are no Grey Wardens this time around?

As far as we know, that any that would be playable. Perhaps that will change.

I don't mind to express disappointment about some things, or to read about what things people don't like when it is constructive. It just bothers me when I see some people taking it too far and being rude.

Well I am disappointed in what I've seen and heard so far. I would not go so far as to boycott the game. Another worry of mine is the RPG element and the combat, which is why I would like to see a demo. I say these things in the hopes that the devs give us something to quell our fears.

I clearly don't know enough about the game to be justified in boycotting the game, so I shall wait and see. The setting of Dragon Age wasn't as exciting to me ans I am finding NWN to be. Goodness, Bw's older games are much more compelling. Wonder what they will do for this one>

I will say this much, before EA got ahold of them their writing was richer and deeper on all their games.

Unsurprisingly, if you're a fan of something, you're unlikely to boycott it.

It wasn't their 1rst publisher and most likely will not be their last.

As of right now I am not planning on buying it. Not because I am boycotting it per say, but because nothing I have heard so far has made me want to buy it. I will keep tabs on the news though as it comes out.

I just need some clarifications on the dialog system before I make my decision. Thats the dealbreaker for me, as the ME2 dialog system made the game stale and I hated the method implemented in Awakening. A mesh of both of these styles would kill the game for me. Other than that I have been pretty optimistic about the other changes that they have announced.

Well, we'll certainly have the game in my house . . . my sister is in love with the Fereldan world, and steals my xbox to play the game all the time, so no way around that. I never really even played DA:A . . . idk, this world doesn't exactly appeal to me. I did love playing as a city elf, and loved the amount of freedom the game gave to customize the character and even give it some personality. It was refreshing to go to a classic-style rp after playing so much Mass Effect (which is also a good game, but you can't customize Shepard very much).

My favorite game is Jade Empire. The story was great, and even though is was fairly linear, you could customize your character, and were very engaged with the story and the character. KotoR had that effect, also . . . this whole voiced PC thing is slightly irritating though.
