They're both coming out at around 2011, and Diablo 3 will have a lot of hype maybe even more then Sc2

Well, is Diablo 3 all of a sudden a story driven RPG with hours of dialogue? Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to D3, but a PC only Action RPG isn't a real competition, both could go alongside rather well.

Um, what about all the people who loved ME and DAO? I don't think they all vanished or died in the last two weeks. I don't give a crap about Diablo and that won't change no matter how much they market it.

Besides which, they are rather different games when you get down to it - DA2 is an rpg, while D3 is a hack n' slash with atmosphere and story but little rp depth.

Nothing says that the audiences for one won't also purchase the other ... I know I will.

Diablo? Pfft. The bigger issue is a certain ginormous MMO launching the following month.

That probably explains why I only got past act 1 in Dialbo 2....

Spent more time reading those side stories in the manuals than the actual games...

Of course it will, Bioware has a huge followup

Hell, they could even release a steaming poo and it would get at least a hunded thousand sales:devil:

You need to take a break from games. Get outside, get some fresh air. Come back when you have something useful to say.

Well..yea.

But you'd use different skills in the right click and change those skills via keybinds

Is a DA2  a story driven RPG with hours of dialogue? That is the question.

Well, they did sell at least that many Feastday Gifts/Pranks DLC, didn't they?  I think your case is already made.

I don't know... from what I've read about D3 there are some really interesting things about it like character specific and random quests, areas, etc that would make replayability an absolute dream. We'll see how well it's implemented, of course.

It's not roleplaying by any means, but IMO neither is story RPG's like DA. NWN multiplayer is still king for true roleplaying (IMHO).

Merci357 has it right, there's room for both.

I prefer my poo lightly chilled with sweet relish and a tart blush.

I expect D3 to be a fun game in its own right, but if I could only buy one or the other it would be DA2. (thankfully it is unlikely I'll find myself forced into that decision)

well the only thing that bothers me is that DA2 is supposed to be as in depth as DA:O yet it is also supposed to be shorter thus the lower price. Seems like somethings missing here? If its as deep in story how can it be short and if short how do you achieve any depth of story??????????
