Ok folks, since I haven't seen any of these types of threads around, atleast on the first few pages, I think its a good idea to make a suggestion thread.
Post all of your suggestions you have for the game, and hopefully the devs will take some of them into account.

Please do not throw in the obvious suggestions said hundreds of times already, but are futile, such as the brining back of origin stories, the name Hawke being lame, etc etc, we don't need it here.  This thread is meant to be meaningful suggestions to move the title forward as is.

Also, please be sure to read this thread:
What do we KNOW so far?

Here are my suggestions:
1) Make an emotion menu where you can set your character's face while walking around and not in dialogue.  That way you can look happy, angry, etc while standing around and not have a blank stare like The Warden or Shep.
2) Make companions customizable, meaning customizable faces, armor, etc.

Throw your suggestions out there.  If I have time, I will link all the meaningful ones in this post.

Engine Suggestions:
Better graphics
Keep the freely rotating camera, but use neutral lighting during character creation - the color temperature of the lighting in DA:O was a bit misleading when it came to hair colors/skin tones/etc.
Make a tool set available for DA2.

Clothing/Armor/Weapons:
Cloaks and Hoods.
Hip sheaths.
Decent hats for mages.
More Weapons.
Be able to toggle helmets. Sometimes I want to have my helmet on in cut-scenes (obviously, certain limits have to applied for romance dialog, etc)
A separate equipment slot for pants and chest pieces.

Gameplay:
Allow pre-emptive attacks on NPCs that are involved in potentially hostile encounters. If I'm facing bandits/fanatics in town, I should be able to throw spells at them from a distance to trigger their hostility, rather than running up to them or speaking to them.
You shouldn't receive a boat load of quests that all rely on a zone that you cannot access for a long, long time. I'm looking at my log right now and I cannot complete about five quests because they all rely doing something mundane in the Alienage.
The game to be solo-able.

Character customization:
Longsword skill tree.
More hair, and beards. More everything for customization, make it more like the stuff you can do with the toolset.
Better face creator, something similar to ME2's face code so if you make a face you like you can just save the code.
Adjustable height. I'm 6'3' I like being able to make my character the same height as me.
Default Hawke being customizable.
Prettier hair, longer, animated.
More potions, poisons, traps, skills, etc.

Dialogue:
Allow us to see what Hawke will say entirely before choosing the options.
Banter where Hawke can interject.
No spell effects during dialogue.
No helmets during dialogue (hated this in me2) unless its an integral character feature.
Battle Quotes.

Story:
Choose what happened in DA:O in the form of a Questionnaire (like did you destroy the anvil of the void or not, who killed the Archdemon etc)
Tough choices with little to no cop outs (getting the mages in the Redcliffe decision was a cop out)
Lots of romance options for everyone to choose from. Dwarves please.
Longer story.
Llet us play as the old warden for at least a little bit to understand what happened to him/her.
Hawke finds the sword of Vigilance.

Companions:
Qunari companion (like Sten).
Another Mabari, or some sort of dog.
Companions that can walk and don't do that run stop run stop.
Context sensitive dialog with companions (dialog changes subtly based on romance status, where you physically are at the time, who else is in party, etc.) They already did this in DA:O. I'd just like to see it continued.
Party members in the camp should actually DO something instead of standing around like zombies waiting for you to talk to them.
No dog companions barking in the background during dialogue.
Companions that only join under certain conditions.
A crazy companion... like a full blown unpredictable pyscho...
Customizable gender for companions.
Allow people to craft using party members in camp. It is really annoying having to run into town/somewhere just to craft.

Environment:
Cities that feel alive, but are still big.
Better in camp animations.
Not everyone being in armor in camp.
More detailed environments: Taverns that are full of people, Tables iwth things on them.
More exploration: EG Wending wood, and The Korcari Wilds.
Make open world.
be able to go to Orlais, Feralden, Anderfall, Antiva, etc.

Platform Specific Suggestions:
For Pc keep the combat the same (more or less.)
Bring back the list for the PC version, a wheel doesn't make that much sense without a joystick.

1) Qunari Partner (Maybe Sten?)

2) Choose what happened in DAO in the form of a Questionnaire (like did you destroy the anvil of the void or not, who killed the Archdemon ect...

I can never think of suggestions until after the game comes out. Once it's out, I'm like "oooh, I would have liked this, and this, and they could've done this..." But until then, all of my suggestions usually hinge on an aspect of gameplay already present--and since we don't know that much about the game, I can't really think of anything. It would be cool to see Bethany get a romance option, unrequited love (possibly the two be connected), and such, I suppose. Ooh, ooh, and I'd love to go on dates with love interests, for once.

I can't even tell you how awesome it would be to get a romance DLC from BioWare--I can honestly say it'd be the only DLC I've ever jumped the gun to buy. Usually I wait a long time for reviews and mods and whatnot to trickle in. But a romance DLC?

...Er...of course, that has nothing to do with DA2, at the moment...

Companions that can walk and don't do that run stop run stop.
Default Hawke being customizeable.
Better music in the taverns. I recommend The Dubliners.

More detailed environments. Taverns that are full of people. Tables with things on them. That kind of thing.

Not hideous helmets (I don't know if this is physically possible.)

Mabari/some kind of animal companion.

And I like that idea some guy further up mentioned about a checklist establishing what we did in DAO. Failing that just a really responsive import option.

Context sensitive dialog with companions (dialog changes subtly based on romance status, where you physically are at the time, who else is in party, etc.)  They already did this in DAO.  I'd just like to see it continued.

I liked the heavy infantry helmet. At least if you were human. And I liked the heavy dwarf helmet for, well dwarves.

I like this idea. It would give people the chance to explore different story settings without having to load a million billion saved games because you just know there's one OCD gamer out there who's going to do it.

But I doubt the game will really care one way or another what your Gray Warden did.

Definitely better damn "hats" for mages.

Prettier hair, longer, animated.

logaine is romanceable. As in, if you give us a secret character, let us have some fun with them if we wanna. I mean, you give us this wicked guy and expect us not to get turned on by his sheer badassery?

That's all i got right now ^_^;;

Definitely agree...I hated having some weird bard aura in conversations.

no helmets during dialogue (hated this in me2) unless its an integral character feature.

...isn't this already true in DA:O?

I didn't mind sticking them on my companions.  Sten for example looks awesome in the Juggernaut armor and Oghren in Legion of the Dead armor.  But for my main character, helmets always looked goofy on her for some reason.

The templar helm looked great on my fem human warrior.

Hmm, don't remember what that helm looks like off the top of my head. I'll look for it next time I'm in game. Granted I am inordinately picky about helmets. I admit it. It's probably just a me thing.

Oooh, this!

You know, I'm not sure if I'd want to interject, per se. But I'd like to see something like with what happened with Sten: if you overheard him talking about his homeland or opinions you could ask him about it later.

That's a great idea as well. I always felt that in some ways, banter was too separate from everything else - it did reflect the relationships the Warden had (to some degree) with the party members, but it's as if the Warden goes temporarily deaf while the two party members talk.

Four words: Get. Jeremy. Soule. Back.

The music in DAO was workable, but I still feel it lacked... Soule, so to speak. Terrible pun there, I know, but I'm not a major fan of Inon Zur. I think certain compositions of DAO were pretty good but the repetition was just too much for me. You'd have a couple of really catchy motifs (i.e, the brass battle tune, or the female voice from the main theme), and then they'd be remixed, looped and played to death. Not to mention the gratuitous male chanting. I'm sure its just me; I'm fussy when it comes to game audio.

I actually took banters as breaking the fourth wall, like my Warden couldn't hear them, but I the player was getting a treat. Sorta like the cutscene with Zevran, Loghaine, and Howe. Not that I think that Hawke speaking up is a bad idea. Because I don't. It sounds like a good one. The more companion interaction, the better I say.

I agree - Raga, it felt strange that the Warden acted as if they didn't hear the banter. I liked how in KOTOR the PC could talk during the banter moments. Although, I also want the option in some of the banter discussions to just listen and let the two (or more) party members talk.

make the companions interactive instead of stairing at a camp fire. and when you cheat on someone you exspect like a fight to the death between the two women or men.

make open world

Helmet toggle. Less orcs and goblins. No terrible sequences where you play a character that needs several effects on them at a time to adequately fight, then force them to morph in and out of things repeatedly during a quest that will totally remove the effects and not refresh the cooldown. There's little more I hated in that game then that damned Circle Fade sequence.

This. Also action queues, and better Shapeshifting. Interjecting into banter sounds interesting too.

i do like tough choices in games... but if the option to go to the circle hadn't been there i would have been like: this is stupid there is a mage tower right over there (i would have liked  someone to die while the warden journeyed though)

also

companions that only join under certain conditions

a seperate equipment slot for pants and chest pieces (pipe dream)

a crazy companion... like a full blown unpredictable pyscho...

Question for you all - should Hawke have "battle quotes"?
