I SO wanted to keep her in my party. It sucks that she died. I wish we could bring her back somehow, or have a way where she didnt die.
She was so young, and happy and full of energy. Its such a shame that she didnt survive. :(

It looks like Mhairi doesnt have a character discussion thread. So here goes.

I hereby christen this thread the official Mhairi fan thread! So says King Cailan and the Grey Wardens.

I must have been one of the few people that was surprised that she died. She had a character trailer and everything. For quite a while I wondered if she was going to show up again, and not have died after all.

She would just have become bitter and disillusioned in time. It's practically a Warden requirement.

For such a character with that much "screen-time", she is still definitely my favourite companion in Awakening. T__T

Maybe not under my first Commander, but definitely under my second. Posted Image

I knew she was gonna die. She was way too bushy-tailed and earnest about being a Warden. Not quite a Daveth, but in the same department.

I knew she was going to die because her portrait had no background color.

Heh, it's true. It's like the more enthusiastic you are about becoming a Warden the higher the likelyhood that you won't live past the Joining. The more that you hope it will kill you, the less likely you'll get your wish.

Except Alistair. He was excited AND lived, only to be disillusioned should you choose that option for him.

I can only assume that there was someone even more enthusiastic than him at his Joining. Posted Image

I just want a Mhairi companion back! :( She was such a good Tank. And it wouldnt be until the end of Awakening until I had the tank role filled out for me via recruiting Justice. That sucked. My first Warden was an Archer Rogue.

In her memory, I shall make a Female Warrior Warden Shield and Sword and name her Mhairi. Anyone know how to make Mhairi's face?

Oh so you only wanted her for her tanking skills. The truth comes out! Posted Image

Aw, I take it back, that's sweet. Posted Image
I'm not sure how to put her face on a PC, though, sorries.

She was a decent tank, wasn't she?

Potential for a half-decent-ish character there, but I think what would essentially have been a noble knight type would have been a tad clichéd. We already have Oghren and Nathaniel and Velanna for those seeking predictable characters after all. :P

I dunno, I saw her at a completely different light. She was very enthusiastic. Very warm. Very loveable. I would have loved to have had her throughout the rest of the game.

She was like the knight in shining armor, but instead of a prince charming, she was the damsel. That appeals to me. A reversal of roles. A new way to look at something.

She probably would have been a problem, though, if you made any less-than-strictly-saintly decisions. I mean, she was already upset at just recruiting Oghren and Anders.

Most women would be leery about letting Oghren near/around them on a regular basis. While she wasn't sure about Anders in that he was an apostate, at the end of the Vigil, she was pretty friendly and receptive to his presence.

I dont think guys would be too happy about hanging around a drunk, angry midget either. At least not all the time.

I really wish I could have seen more of Mhairi. The Genlock was like, "Grr!" And she was like "Aargh!" Then the Genlock was like "slash-slash" and she was like "SHIELD BASH!!"  Good times.

I didn't say it was unreasonable that she'd have a problem with them but if she's going to nitpick the bloody recruitment choices then she'd likely have a problem with every other non-Wynne's-version-of-GWs thing you go as well.

She seemed young and inexperienced. I dont think she would have second-guessed every decision I made as The Warden in Awakenings. Or maybe she would. We'll never know.

Who knows where that could have taken us. Maybe a hardened Mhairi would have left the party if you chose her during the Broodmother's lair and joined The Architect. Or maybe with enough disapproval she would have killed another partymember.  What would have her companion quest been? Does she like dwarven ale? Does she have stories of when she and her fellow soldiers were goofing off, charging at each other with their shields?  We will never know.

I thought they left a lot of potential on the table with Mhairi she could of been the follow up Warden Commander of Fereldon/Vigils Keep after the Warden leaves/vanishes. I thought she would of been great banter material too considering her dutiful attitude would clash with Oghren and Anders. Personal quest not sure since we didn't learn much about her. I think the Warden would maybe be able to talk her down about not killing the Architect; I could deff see a Duncan-Alistair relationship between the Warden and Mhairi.

Cheap ****! You get all of her equipment after she dies anyways. Just like Jory and Daveth . . .

Weird. She reminded me of Ser Cauthrien. Must be the female warrior/knight thing. Anyway, that must be the reason she always gets caught in my cones of cold, blizzards, fireballs, infernos, earthquakes, and tempests.
