These are the raw results from the survey. I have also changed the settings so that any surveys taken from now on will lead straight to the results page but I'm going to work with only these first 808 submissions.
Unfortunately, this data makes a lot more sense in graph form but I couldn't upload any decent graphs. I have not included the comments section for obvious reasons, but most of the commentorss seemed to think I could somehow make their favourite characters come back in ME3. Sorry guys, I'm just doing a survey
A massive thanks to everyone who participated and showed support. And thanks for being patient; I have a hectic school life which meant I had to delay releasing the results for a week. I'm still getting scores of submissions every day; it's great to see so much interest in this and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the results. Feel free to do as you please with the raw data. I would love to see anything you guys do with it.

I also have copies of each individual submission. I was planning on doing a report on whether people who liked certain characters tend to dislike others. But with so many submissions there's no way I was going to be able to sort through all the data without going insane. Thanks for giving me an excuse not to do extra work!

So without further ado, the results from the Mass Effect Character Popularity Survey!

Most Loved Squad Mate: Garrus
Most Hated Squad Mate: Morinth
Least Hated Squad Mate: Urdnot Wrex (Special Mentions: Mordin and Legion)
Least Loved Squad Mate: Morinth (Special Mention: Jacob Taylor)
Most Meh Squad Mate: Kaidan Alenko (Special Mention: Jacob Taylor)
Overall: Joker was more well loved than Garrus.

Most Loved Male LI: Tali'Zorah
Least Loved Male LI: Morinth
Most Hated Male LI: Morinth (Special Mention: Jack)
Least Hated Male LI: Liara T'Soni
Most Loved Female LI: Garrus
Least Loved Female LI: Jacob Taylor
Most Hated Female LI: Jacob Taylor (Special Mention: Morinth)
Least Hated Female LI: Garrus
Overall: Aliens scored much higher as Female LIs than humans. This was less noticable with Male LIs.

Most Loved Character: Joker
Least Loved Character: Donnel Udina
Most Hated Character: Donnel Udina
Least Hated Character: David Anderson (Special Mention: EDI and Joker)
Most Meh Character: Kelly Chambers (Special Mention: Doctor Chakwas)
Note: Not all major NPCs were included. Maybe this will be survey number 2...

Most Requested for ME3: Garrus
Other highly requested characters include: Tali'Zorah, Legion, Wrex and Mordin in that order.
Least Requested for ME3: Morinth
Other least requested characters inlude: Jacob Taylor and Zaeed Massani.

I would say : how can anyone hate a character ?

I can understand "dislike", but "hate" ....... <_<

It pretty easy to hate a character. Especially if they are annoying or just feel completly pointless.

The one that gave me the most trouble was the Illusive Man. Because I love to hate him, so I didn't know what to pick. I went with love in the end.

Turned out about as I thought it would (Garrus and Tali grabbing the top spots) but pleasantly surprising to see some other characters get some love.

808 votes is pretty impressive. I know Xette mentioned soliciting people for the survey beyond this forum. Interesting to see trends do transcend what I see just in the Bioware forum.
