lol who even cares about previews... Alpha Protocol looked really cool in previews, and look how that ended up. Also, ME2 looked lame in previews and I loved it.

It's google translated to english.

What the f**! What is it with these people? They've seen 10 minutes of a game that's MANY hours long. How can you base a game of just 10 minutes of it. That's just bull. Wait till the game is almost here. You've seen 10 minutes of it.
I can't stand all these bad preview's. Bioware doesn't deserve this. DA2 will be a great game. They haven't made one bad game.

When any person/group have any kind of success after a while certain people, especially the press, will clamour for the first sign of failure, and in some cases perpetuate it.

Sure.  Also, when something is almost universally liked, the only people who get attention are the ones who hate it.  Look at the reviews for Inception on rottentomatoes; there are like 2 comments on every article waxing poetic about how great it was, and like 140 comments on every article calling it rotten.  :o

I really wish they'd demo the PC version sometime. All this talk about the XBox version keeps jerking me around, since whatever the hell combat is doing in that version has nothing to do with me.

Why shouldn't people trust Gamespot? They haven't said anything we didn't know from the other previews.

Oh I agree, everything in the Gamespot article is just recycled information from every other preview with a more favorable outlook. I just find it a bit funny people are praising this preview and bashing all others simply because the tone of this one was a bit more pro-BioWare, especially since a few posters here were laying some blows on Gamespot.

Amen to that. I know they want to show off the console versions more this go around, but I hope that doesn't mean they neglect the PC version either. That said though, even if the combat is more tactical on the PC, they're making some changes anyway, so it'll likely still be more "responsive" and such just like the consoles. I just want to see how that translates onto the PC with pause and play...

Its funny though- I remember when the Game Informer review for Awakening came out and it was a 7.75 and everyone rushed to bash the review, thinking it was impossible Awakening could get a score that low.

And of course Awakening came out and at least in my estimation, probably merited a 7.75 or so. Its the problem with all reviews and previews- its just some person's opinion and may be the exact opposite of your own.

What I'm really hoping we get with DA2 are some of the developer walkthrough videos like we had with Origins. These videos where Dan Tudge just sort of walked through Ostagar and the Tower of Ishal showing off and describing all the systems and stuff. If we get some gameplay videos like that, clearly delineating the PC and console versions, I'd be happy.

I always thought that those videos were the best way to judge DAO before release. I hope for something like this too.

It could also be that the authors of all the articles are working from the exact same source material? Naturally, you'd expect some overlap, no? It's just that Gamespot is the only one who bothered to learn enough to know what Darkspawn were and not to make asinine predictions based on spotty evidence.

er no, people are praising this article as it is apparent that the journo has some knowledge of the first game as well as gamers concerns and addressing them, the positives taken there from are based on confirmations of what they had hoped for.

Yeah, those were great as they went over everything very nicely. Or even with ME2 and the combat videos Christina Norman narrated. Those sort of info heavy videos are so much more valuable to me than any CGI Blur trailer or anything...

Oh, please. I am Norwegian, and while I can agree fully that that article is truly pathetic (mainly rehashing the IGN preview and giving a voice to certain so-called "fans" (the quoted fans apparently know even less what they're talking about than the IGN previewer)), it is no preview. They certainly didn't play the game. They did not see 10 minutes of it. They've seen nothing of it. Enough spoonfeeding now?

No article(including this one from gamespot) has revealed enough information to actually paint an accurate potrait of what to expect from DA2, but because this is the first preview to portray DA2 is a somewhat positive manner, the fanboys or Bioware apologists or whatever you would call them, act like this article was written by Jesus.

It's kind of pathetic.

Of course there'd be some overlap, but that's why I commented on people praising the one with a more pro-BioWare tone and bashing the others despite the fact they are all stating the exact same thing. What exactly makes Gamespots predictions any less asinine then the others?

IGN was bad no arguments there. 1UP called them Goblins instead of Darkspawn, may have been a ignorant error may have been on purose, people who have never played Origins would more then likely not know what a Darkspawn is but will almost certainly know what a Goblin is, and in fantasy the two serve an identical purpose so it may have just been an easy route but the rest of the article was fine. A few people took shots at the Joystiq one for no pratical reason.

To me it just seems like people were looking to hate (and in some cases love) the other previews because they were generating a negative vibe, but cling onto this one (and the opposite again) because it gives a positive vibe even though in reality they're delivering the exact same information.

People hated the IGN interview because the reviewer made it clear that he is not a fan of fantasy games, nor does he respect people who are. The whole "might be goblins or imps, I'm not enough of a nerd to know the difference," was so rude and dismissive that it pissed a lot of people off.
This GS article was clearly written by someone who at least played the first game. It seems like most of the bloggers who have attended ComicCon and got to play the demo are saying things similar to the Gamespot article. Gamespot said themselves that a 5 min demo in no way is indicative of the whole game, but that they enjoyed what they did in the 5 min. Yes, it's similar content, but it's presented in a way that's respectful to fans and thoughtful instead of jumping to conclusions.

Well it contained enough information to allay my concerns, notably retaining the mapping of powers to control pad buttons rather than a Ninja Gaiden style A for stab, B for slash.

As to wether that is pathetic is purely subjective.

2 articles were somewhat negative about the game (IGN was written by a monkey i know, but still) and so far we have 1 positive article. Now enlighten me.

Why are the bioware leg humpers acting like this is evidence that the game was designed by jesus himself? -.- god you people are retarded. Just wait untill you have more info instead of going:

I didn't even think it was that positive, just open-minded.  They saw faster action and went "well it looks like the action is more responsive and efficient, but of course this is for consoles and was probably boosted for demonstration purposes." The others saw the faster action and went "DA2 IS HACK-AND-SLASH NOW."

So I guess there was a more positive vibe, in that they didn't make dire assumptions about every little thing.

I would continue to support anything that has consistently brought me pleasure and entertainment in the past and would wait to be disappointed rather than knee jerk at early information.

Well, maybe that's the only reason people are upset. I never got a sense that any of these articles gave off a negative vibe, per se (they mostly seem quite glowing, on the contrary), but they simply got facts wrong which painted DA2 in a worse light than it deserved to be painted. And they cracked stupid jokes. Or so the argument goes-- I really don't think it's worth getting upset over.
