I am trying to make NPC's walk their waypoints during the day and then go to a post waypoint at night.
I have read the NWN2 Wiki article on this and made a custom spawn in script which is identical to the default, except that I set the day/night posting flag.
Right now, my NPC's will walk their waypoints during the day, but at night, they just stop in their tracks and do not return to their night waypoint.
I used "NIGHT_ + NPC tag" for the name of the night posting waypoint.
Any help is appreciated.

Need a link to the article. Also, is the night waypoint in the same area and/or module?

Here is the link to the wiki article:
http://nwn2.wikia.co...h_walkwaypoints
the "night" waypoint is in the same area.

I read the article, followed all the steps and got the same result. Besides the instructions for making NPCs switch areas just by following waypoints are wrong.
I've been trying to find a good and simple set of scripts to create a routine for commoner-type NPCs (so that they walk around the city/village and go home at night) for some time now but I had no luck.

The reason you've had no luck is because it's not as easy as it should be. Even for scripters.
NWN had the venerable NWN Activities scripts, but the author never ported that over to NWN2. NWN2 comes with a "scripted waypoints" system, which can do what you want if you're savvy enough technically. And patient.
Otherwise, check out NPC Control by UncleFB. It's not a perfect system but it'll give you some functionality, if you're unable to script your own waypoints.

@nametab
I got tired of trying to make the NWN2 built-in system work and am working on my own script. If you are interested, I can send it to you. It is almost done. It is pretty limited. All it does is make the NPC follow the waypoints during the day and then go to a certain spot at night and disappear, then reappear during the daytime.

@cipher.
Thanks for the reply. I am just going to make my own system, that way, I know exactly what is going on and I feel more comfortable with it.

IIRC - the ToolSet Help covers waypoints - and possibly the Toolset Manual on the Vault.

@M. Rieder - yes, I would be delighted to check your script once it is finished. I was trying to do the same thing, i.e. make a commoner follow some waypoints during the day (and perhaps throw in some ActionWait commands and maybe a few animations, such as sitting or talking) and just approach a door and disappear at dusk. But I can't seem to make my NPC move anywhere during the night, so if you've figured it out then I'd be grateful if you would send it to me. Cheers.
