the new art direction is what gets to me the most, the screenshots look just damn awful, and i am not liking all this samurai feeling and spikey armour.

If you're comparing them to what you saw on a high-end PC, if that's what you had, I'd partially agree with you. It isn't a finished product however, and it also seems to me that these were shots from the console version. But the screens weren't full screen, and the product  wasn't finished, so I think it's acceptable to give the product the benefit of the doubt.

As far as Art Direction, who knows, these screens are rough drafts, and are conceptual in nature.

ok i kinda agree with you there armour can look cool but it need's to look practical aswell and what ive seen of hawkes armour so far doesnt fit that bill (shouldent be much of a problem assuming they dont mass effect 2 thier armour system)

I think it might appease some people if the game didn't have the number 2 at the end. Rather some sort of subtitle, as it is plainly obvious that the game isn't a squeal of Dragon Age: Origins.

Well it isn't Dragon Age: Origins 2 and it would be very narrow minded of BioWare if they didn't do so.  You would need a game glossary on the side of every game box to make sure you are getting the games in the right order. ;p

Dragon Age: Origins (2009)
Dragon Age: Awakening (2010)
Dragon Age 2 (2011), 3(2013), 4 (2015), etc. All continue your Grey Warden!

Dragon Age: Hawke's adventure (2011)
Dragon Age: Redemption(2012)
Dragon Age: Revival (2014)
Dragon Age: Last Stand (2015)   -- Are all the adventures of Hawke!

Dragon Age: Child of the Old God (2012)
Dragon Age: Infusion (2013)
Dragon Age: Fade (2014)  -- All let you continue the storyline of Morrigan's child!

Trying to fight a troll with logic is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline use you wit to defeat him

Who are you suggesting is a troll hxx7y?

There's no actual DA2 discussion going on in this thread, so I'm shutting it down.

End of line.
