After a year and a half of development (and obnoxious marketing), July Anarchy Prologue is now available for download at NWVault.com!

See for yourself!

-Witness the beginning of a completely new urban-fantasy universe with a gritty reality and visceral story.

-Fight your way through one of the largest battles ever to be rendered within the Aurora Engine.

-Collaborate with NPC allies that employ advanced tactics and dynamically talk to each other.

-Utilize unique tactics such as taking cover, setting traps, and using grenades.

-Take aim with a huge variety of weapons, from longswords to Ak-47s to railguns to explosive magnesium arrows.

-Enjoy a great replay value with a spawn system that ensures it's never the same fight twice.

-Uncover secret codes throughout the game and enhance your next
playthrough with godlike powers, informative extras and even a secret
mission.

-FINALLY a D20 Modern Mod module with NO DM RQUIRED!

Give it a try and be sure to leave comments/complaints/harsh language.

For those of you who may have downloaded July Anarchy Prologue already, it turns out I forgot to include the tlk file in the .rar package. The tlk file is now up on the NWVault page as a separate download. Sorry for the screw-up.

Version 1.1 just went up on the Vault! There's some real game-changing features here, such as XP bonuses for helping out your allies and the option to adjust how intense the battles are.

A modern module? And I didn't see it? Soon I will!

Can I play a woman?

Please, pretty please?

Well, no and yes. No you cannot at first, because there is a predefined character required. However, after beating the game, you can replay it as any character you want, provided you find the secret code.

So far I've had a deal where I PM somebody with how to find this code if they vote on the module, regardless of whether they vote a 10 or a 1. But I'm not getting any votes on there anyway, so here's how to find the character code:

When you start the game and are prompted with the options menu, choose "Adjust Battle Intensity", then choose "Mosh Pit", and "Exit". Do not change this setting again. In order to get the code, you need to win the game on Mosh Pit mode without changing the difficulty setting.

Cool, I was waiting for that! Thanks for the update! :)
I hope I'll find the time to play soon.

Allright, but I could switch the gender of your predifined PC...

Would the module sound weird if I do so?

I know I'm of the stubborn kind, but at least I know it. ;)

You absolutely could, though reading the journal would reveal your female PC to be a lesbian.

Fine by me, I would probably be a lesbian if I was a woman anyway!
And thanks fot the answers!

Add to that that the hero of the story already has an unisex name (Alex) and long hair. ;)

Many files from the whole D20 Modern 2.0 download overwrite each other? I suppose they're only duplicates but the same...
Or does that mean we should only download that "mdrn20_complete.rar" 510Mb?
This could be eventually simplifed...

Did you get D20 Modern working? It can get a bit tricky. I wish they had an automatic installer like the CEP team.

I'm playing fine and enjoying it even more!
Well, 'gotta go, 'fighting my way against time... as I'm on a deadline... if you know what I'm talking about...
Would you happen to have a code to remove this? :bandit:
Just trying, no offense...
Great music and words by the way.
That's often the case with great modules.
**** 'wondering why...  ****

The quest in Sector B will remove your timelimit. The mission itself is easy, the challenge is getting there and then deciding if what you need to sacrifice for it is worth it.

A massive update to July Anarchy Prologue will be released in the near future. This update includes all-new gameplay mechanics such as the "Adrenaline Rush" ability, which is already a blast to play with even this early in testing. Adrenaline Rush has the player jumping into the fight not just to earn XP, but to build up Adrenaline. When the player reaches max adrenaline, it triggers an "Adrenaline Rush". The player gains godlike strength, fast regeneration and haste to stand against the game's most powerful enemies. The catch? Your Adrenaline levels drain quickly during a Rush, meaning the player must suddenly rack up as many kills in as little time as possible to maintain the Rush for as long as they can. Once you lose all Adrenaline, you're back to your old self, so tactics and resourcefulness will be a must to use this ability effectively.

A host of other improvements are on the way. There is now an official objective to slay all 3 dragons in the Epicenter area (doesn't count if allies kill the dragons). The strengths of enemies and allies are being recalibrated (enemies are actually more powerful to accommodate the Adrenaline system). Almost all generic enemies are being replaced with the module's modified enemies. Tweaked weapons, new potions, and the ever-present bug fixes.

This is most likely going to be the last time I update July Anarchy before putting all my energy into Static, so I want to make it count.

Very good news, JM Scion. Your game being one of the most interesting modules brought to NWN life recently, it sures deserves some care and attention, hopfully around the storyline as well, not only around the future but the past of that messy haired kid.
I had a weird feeling about it, at the time, like it was unfinished at some point, no ending...?
Let us snow. I'd be very interested in playing it again. Even not being an H&S type of player.
That could be a dream to play such a futuristic module as a woman. A woman, the only future of mankind.
But I know also about the tremendious work to make it ever possible.

Thanks for the vote of confidence jmlzemaggo. Though I hate to break it to you that, since this is a prologue, the story of this module is still going to feel unfinished. The main purpose of this Prologue module is to practice for the first chapter, so in time you'll still get to learn plenty about that messy-haired kid (semi-spoiler: His name is Eric Osme). Gameplay-wise, this version is going to be a big overhaul from the build you played.

Here's a breakdown of what's new in the next update so far:
- Adrenaline system
- 5 new music tracks
- Alternate ending
- New secret objective
- More spoken dialog
- Rebalanced allies and enemies (Nomads no longer slaughter everything in sight)
- Statistics system lets you see your kills, score, assists, etc.
- Improved supply boxes
- Improved AI (Wounded soldiers now try to retreat, better response to commands)
- Loads of bugfixes

And of course I'm open to any suggestions or requests.

Just put together a video demo of the new Adrenaline System in action. This is a completely new gameplay mechanic to NWN, challenging you to play the game with a whole new level of speed and tactics. Check the video here or visit Cocytus Games.

July Anarchy Prologue now has a MODDB page. This is where I'll be able to post updates on the new version more consistently.

July Anarchy Prologue version 1.2 is done and is awaiting authorization at MODDB.com. I am in the process of splitting files to be uploaded to NWVault.com and they should be available later tonight. This is a major overhaul of the mod with a second possible ending and new gameplay mechanics. Give it a shot and give me your thoughts on the changes.

Also, July Anarchy Prologue will be the first single-player NWN mod to feature an online leaderboard, hosted on the MODDB page. Stay tuned for details.
