I say
Best: Male City Elf and human noble coming a close 2nd
Worst: Dalish Elf--man it was bland and terrible

I've only played the Human Male origin, I thought it was very good.

Haven´t played Dalish now, i clearly rank the dwarfen noble at place one.
Worst has to be the darven commoner.. short and uninteresting imo.

The human noble origin story was one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had.
SPOILER
At the end of that story, when the PC's mom stays behind with his dad to the end.. it actually moved me in a way that no game has ever done before... I felt so sad, angry and admiring of cousland and his wife at the same time.. with a kind of cold hard rage/intent forming towards Arl Howe... I actually felt my eyes watering in that scene.. Once I beat the game, will play the other origin stories for sure!

I've only played Dalish origin story for now. And it moved me. I do not see what is bland about it. it is deeply sorrowful story, but it is in a subtle way.You have to understand the situation and the mindset of the clan to be able to understand what a tragedy your character is experiencing. If you spend the time talking to everyone you get to understnd how close-nitted the clan is, and that you're just about to be yanked out of the only life and the only people you have known into a big wide world you have no clue about. The world your people try to shelter themselves from in order to live free and preserve the little history of the elven people that is left. For a Dalish, to be separated from his/her clan is like being without a heart.

I've only played the mage origin and human noble origin, but I have to say the human noble was a lot better imo.

I've played female city elf, male human noble and male mage was my my favorite by far, followed by human noble. City elf wasn't bad but I was just disapointed because could have been soooooo much better if it had more emotion.

Dwarf Noble is awesome. HUman noble while nice, is way too short. I also felt Dalish elf was meh.

I have done the dwarf noble and the mage stories so far. The dwarf noble story was more moving. Did it as a male dwarf, by the way.

I have done all except both dwarven ones, and they was all absolutely fantastic. I would however rate the city elf(female) and human noble as my two favourites, and Daelish was probably the least 'special'

Same as meme - I've only played the Daish elf origin story (as a chica) and was totally wrapped up in the story. I think it might be a situation where the premise is more interesting than the actual story - the best parts of it are in the setting, not in the plot. I feel like the Dalish have the strongest identity when you compare the origin stories... as a people they've had to overcome much more, have fallen further and suffered greater losses, yet they seem to be the proudest, happiest sect in the game.
But characters and setting aside, yeah, the 'go explore over there' plot-line felt kind of like a cop out. I still feel guilty about one of the decisions I made there, though, so it couldn't've been that bad.

Best would be dalish elf the fact you can execute 3 humans in the beginning.
worst is mage but to be fair there is no bad origin.

Here's a question to those who dislike the City Elf origin: did you play as a male or female? I think that one is the one that can change the most dependant on your gender I understand.

Well, this just goes to show that people like different things. *gasp* I haven't played the dwarf origins yet, but the only one that really resonates with me is the Dalish one so far.

now only if the dog gives his life some how in the story, Imagin the tears
like lets say a large pack of wardogs come after you and Duncan. and suddenly your companion charges after them to let you two excape. that would be a real tear jurker, kinda like in "I am Legend"

I have only done the human noble, but found it surprisingly short. I also found it quite unemotional, which is I think a symptom of my character never speaking.

I've only completed the dwarf commoner. If the other origins are this good, then I am in for a real treat. This is the first game I've played in awhile where I want to consider multiple play throughs.
