A while back I had come up with the idea of a new character to be added into the commander's squad. The originally idea came from a group I had joined though, I thought that the idea was stupid and there was no way of making this possible. The idea was having a Collector into your squad.

Back then I had several ideas but, all seem to have been done before by others. Of course having a past enemy into your squad has already been done by bioware (Legion) yet I eventually thought or a loop-hole that bioware could use.

One thought I had was possible a collector was able to break the control of the hive mind or, Shepard was able to "reprogram" this collector. So finally I came up with the idea, a great loop-hole, that this collector is also part human.

The Collectors had to be running experiments on humans or, other races as well. Hell you have a robot based a collector tech, that runs on the power of human heads. The idea is that some poor grunt of a solider or a random civilian was captured and experimented on. Eventually they began to infuse collector DNA to this test subject! Of course there will be other failed subjects too. So now these Collector hybrid has no memory of its past and you the great and helpfully Commander Shepard will help the Collector regain its memory OR be a total jerk and just lie about its past!

As for how you find the Collector Hybrid and its origin story...Well I’m still crafting that story. Hopefully I can get some help and read the people's opinions. Also I was able to draw some concept art and it is in my photo collection so, feel free to take a look. 

Hopefully I can gain some support and eventually see my idea brought to Bioware! And don't forget to thanks abletankbuster and his group, Survivors of the extinct, for giving me this idea.

Their DNA structure is completely different.

We also already have way too many squaddies in ME2, in addition to the probable return of some or all that survived ME1.

Humans can't be collectors, collectors are protheans. And wouldn't he have been indoctrinated by Harbinger?

Well like i said its just an experiment, it's not even controlled by the reapers(reapers don't indoctrinate the collectors since they are already under there control). and where does it states that a human can't become a collector?

As for squad size, at the mass effect website, they do show two empty spots on the squad list.

And so far my idea has been shot down because, humans can't be collectors.

Yet the main character was brought back from the dead!
