I can't find any answers anywhere for my little problem.
I had Baldur's Gate installed on my system when I was using Windows XP Pro 32Bit then I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit and I the game was still in the right directory but it no longer worked, there was no uninstall file and it was of course not in the uninstall programs folder.
So I deleted the files and now I'm trying to reinstall it and it wont work
I've tried setting the compatability to Windows 95 98 XP and Vista used admin and not admin: to the setup file.
Nothing works
What it does is start the wee loading screen in the bottom right corner and that hangs for about 2 minutes before disappearing, sometimes it stays active in the running services but I've left it for up to an hour and nothing has worked.
Anyone have any ideas?

Try booting into safe mode and installing from there.
