Aye, we need more mature joking

What would that be then?

Childish jokes already involve penisses and violence, how can you get more mature?

Well, it depends on what you mean by "childish joking". If it fits the character, I'm ok with it... for example, Alistair was always joking, but that was part of his personality and didn't spoil the atmosphere.

About stealth, a fellow poster mentioned Bloodlines. The problem with games that try to give alternate quest solutions (which is an admirable thing ), ex. with a "real" stealth focused in avoiding enemies altogether, is that usually in the final part of the game, which will inevitably involve lots of fighting, stealth-focused characters will be penalized. Try finishing Bloodlines (which was, overall, brilliant) with a character who is great at stealth but sucks at fighting- the last bosses will tear you to pieces.

Sad, but true. :crying:. How else are they gonna make sure the ignorant masses know it's a badass boss without giving it a tonne more hitpoints, mana and damaging attacks that you can't defend against.

This has been said thousand times before, but I say it again: No more silly mage-hats!

Also, I'd like to be able to take my helmet off without losing an item set bonus (in all possible armors/clothes). Something like "hide helmet on/off"

And it would be nice to be able to respec party members without a mod (but with somekind of penalty, it could cost a lot of gold etc). I messed up a couple of builds on my first playtrough in DA:O and suffered a lot because of it.. It may have been my own fault, but sometimes you can't see right away that something doesn't work as well as expected.

Include Barney The Dinosaur and dirty socks references. That is serious stuff.

Weak 2handed weapons is an 'element' I absolutely don't want to see in DA2. Maybe my experiences are clouded somewhat by WoW (and other RPG's) but while I expect a big 2handed weapon to swing slower than someone unleashing a flurry of hits I would expect that when it does, it hits for nigh colossal (acceptable) damage.

Then you'd need to balance them by taking away all those great crowd-control abilities.

Why? No one else seems to be penalised for making choices either. At least, weren't in DAO. If I do have to be penalised for it then sure... as long as:
1) If someone else makes choices, then they should lose capability in other areas as well.
2) My class is damn fun.
3) My strengths are real strengths.

Honestly though, if I do be penalised in less 'cc' then that'll be good in the sense that it will encourage the usage of squad mates perhaps 'more.'

I honestly can't tell if you're talking about 80's Bob Saget and being ironic, or modern Bob Saget and being serious.

I could go for more complex puzzle elements if going to be included, like the bridge in Sacred Ashes temple, but then most of the others was oh we need to get through this wall, "oh look right behind this pot there is a lever" hazzah puzzle solve, whats the point?

As to the spiders comments I'm fin with them as long as they don't ad giant scorpions being the Free Marches is more an arid area, gah couldn't stand them in fallout 3, the first two fallouts not so bad but in the free roaming ability in fallout 3 and them coming out of nowhere gahh!

- No more mitre-style mage hats. Cowls and circlets are okay.

- Overwhelm. I don't object to enemies trying to use it on you, but allow us some way of breaking it early, either by a PR check every few seconds or even jamming on a button so that eventually, you kick or shove them off you. Knockdown effects from other characters should also break it.

- Crushing Prison. Same sort of thing as Overwhelm, early breaks with MR checks or some other method.

- Less... annoying random encounters (the ones where you zone in surrounded on all sides by 20 ranged enemies firing AOE stun skills and who are inaccessible to melee except by a single narrow path halfway across the zone saturated with max difficulty traps).

- No enemies that cheat by walking across their own traps or snares without setting them off.

- No more map encounters that have no purpose to them other than to kill a group of enemies and move on.

What? You know you can edit the char tactics right?

Yes I play with disabled tactics but I'm speaking of your character healing themselves(not with potions or spells) after combat and when your character runs over a trap during a non-combat situation. It makes traps redundant, in that I can just stand and wait a few seconds to recover the damage dealt. Also make KO'd characters recover with 1 HP.

hornless Qunari

Deal. With. It

Seriously though, why are Qunari automatically 'bad' because they have horns? Or is it that they're basically Demons? Or is it just because Sten was different?

Personally I think this is good, it adds to the Qunari.
