I assume its still working, because they have another "weapon" pack coming out around the time of the liara dlc. I don't buy them, lol no, but the amount of effort put into them is so small, that they are no doubt making money on them.
Small? You really don't know much about game development, do you?
WOW, Im sorry if I made you feel bad about you throwing your money away. It wasn't my intention.
Bad? No, I don't feel bad. It's just that that comment has surprised me since the amount of effort for those things isn't that small.

Bah, me and a couple of friends could do that April Fools pack nonsense in a weekend or two if we had the software and a couple cases of beer.

Just another unfortunate side effect of multiplatform development.

Nah its ok for you to let out them vocals lucy.Better than no voice or the computer voice they give...Unless they some how made a really good computer voice.Lucy_Glitter wrote...
I didn't think they'd have a toolset for this one. Having a voiced PC makes things complicated for builders, anyway.

No, the development isn't focused on the console, Mike said something (can't remember where)to explain there's no lead platformMarionetten wrote...
With the development process being focused on the consoles this time around a toolset is highly unlikely.
Just another unfortunate side effect of multiplatform development.

That's why it's taking major elements from a console game and using the console version first and mostest foremost as a showcase to gaming media? Mass Effect in magical place, that's it, game over.

I don't think there's very much that voice vs no voice would effect in terms of mods. Certainly anything that involves the PC actually saying something would result in no voice, just like DAO, of that's assuming that the modding person doesn't choose to do the voicing themselves. Certainly the mods effecting the companions in DAO are quite cool, and they're voiced in the game. Obviously a mod that gets rid of that annoying fade area in the Mage tower, or that makes the companions look nicer, or that gives you cooler armor, etc etc don't involve voice one way or the other, thats the way it already works in DAO and there's no reason for that to be any different in DA2. I think its safe to say VO is basicly irrelevant to the whole having a toolset thing. One might as well say 'There's a 2 in the Title, you can only have a toolset for games with letters only in the Title', it'd make about as much sense.
Yes thats pretty much what i thought. Shouldnt make a differ with a VO or not.
The question is will they make a toolset that works for the "new" game engine their using for Dragon Age this time around, and is it even possible.
My money is on a- no there wont be a toolset like we saw in DAO.
But the option to mod will be there for the community to figure out. Probably, i think.. mmm. I dont know really!.
gawd SC2 is taking forever to install...

Mass Effect (the first one) isn't a good exemple, cause this game was developed as an xbox exclusive title. So no, you can't consider Mass Effect as an exemple of multi support platform game.
but perhaps I misunderstood you.

We weren't talking about the April Fools pack.
Incidentally, I haven't bought any weapon or non-story DLC (that includes Darkspawn Chronicles). They don't interest me at all and, since Bioware isn't forcing me to buy them, I don't do it. I don't see what's the problem in them doing some DLCs I don't like.

I believe he means he deleted the more inflammatory posts. On a relevant note, we got a small sneak peek into the PC version with the new GI update. Look for it somewhere, too late for me to go trawling for the link.
Seems 'not-too-different' but of course the PC wasn't moving. Also the placeholder "Templar Seeker" 2H axe + stealth seemed rather... out of place.. I can just imagine a ninja-like sneaker running about with a broadsword.
Back to combat, anyone else played DoW 2? Nowhere near my favourite RTS but the melee combat is what I want to highlight. Fairly quick character engagements, is this what the new combat system aims to be like?

Has anybody considered that...
...you might be able to Mod DA2 files in the DA:O Toolset?
Yes, it's an upgraded engine, different games with some changes from DA:O etc. but the bare bones are still the same in as far as we know. The structure of save files or custom items can't change that radically, and they'll likely still be the exact same file types. So I'd be willing to bet money that the DA:O Toolset will be able to mod at least some of the content in 'DA2'.
From OP :
Beside it is almost sure that DA 2 contents won't be compatible with the Origins editor

Then why are people thinking the toolset won't be at least partially cpmpatible?Aratham Darksight wrote...
Magazine scans are not allowed, sadly. Of course, if it's just a textbox, then there isn't much point to scanning it anyway. The engine is not the same. The Mass Effect series is built on the Unreal Engine. Origins uses an engine made by Bioware and DA2 will use an improved version of that.raz3r_ wrote...
Didn't know about that, beside can someone confirm that the engine is the same from ME? I'm pretty sure I read about that somewhere but I don't remember...

because da2 is in developement for all 3 systems simultaneously that means that the console is in fact the leading platform. they have to take care for the limitations of the so called next gen consoles and therefore the pc version of da2 is already graphically restricted. look how they have to reduce the polygons of the environment just to display better character models. there won't be levels filled with lots of crates and other stuff laying around improving the whole atmosphere because the consoles simply can't handle this amount. also there won't be a zoomed out camera angle - including the pc version.

Source of that rumour? Several articles claim that the PC version will remain the same and that only consoles get a refit.-Semper- wrote...
