You'd still need to record a lot of DIFFERENT lines for both Hawke and the brother/sisterSoleSong wrote...
If it it correct that we can play as a woman, there is allready two major voices... it is only to change use :-)

And most of the NPCs. Every time an NPC says "your siste, she that girl, ...r", you would also have to record the same NPC saying "your brother, he, that boy, ...".BlackyBlack wrote...

I dont realy understand why the sex of the sibling should depend on Hawke´s sex in the first place, families with several daughters are not uncommon.
Allowing Bethany to also be male would just generate extrea work for Bioware with next to no benefit for the players.

If I was a girl, would my brother be a girl? it doesn't make any sense. Does Hawkes fathers sperm decide that there has to be 1 male and 1 female?

I'd rather see Bioware put some time into implementing similar features from your character into your sister. That way, your custom Hawke and Betty look somewhat related.
Haha, I second this. In DAO, I hated having white parents when you made a black human noble. Same thing goes for an Aeducan. <_<

And no, What I meant was it would be nice to have the opposite sex as sibling... but sister, sister is quite ok :-)

Yeah the only origin for me that didn't make a black character seem out of place was mage. In that case you didn't have white parents/family/clan.

And Siradix; it can happen that in a family you got a colored and white baby... genes showing up.
But then also I fully agree with you :-)
I'm not upset by the idea of having boy/girl pairing. That's all fine with me, but it will cost money and will push the project back. But when I look at Betty I can see that the cookie cutter Hawke and her are related. Insert my Hawke, and you loose the similar traits.

If I play my character as a gay individual, can I have a hermaphrodite as a sibling? Would that cause too many voice-over issues?
now that makes perfect sense and it also isnt such a bold suggestion IMO
