Alright guys, One of my favorite things about DAO was that almost every time there was a dialogue choice that was snarky, sarcastic, or downright funny! But since we are gonna have a voiced protaganist I'm worried that the VA may not have the range to deliver those lines properly, especially since he/she also has to deliver the Goody-two-shoes' and phsychopath's lines as well and deliver them well. So bioware, u're not gonna tone down the funny and witty remarks that hawke can do?

Oh, I'm pretty confident that they found a decent voice actor(s). Someone on the forums (can't remember who) said he heard the voice at ComiCon and it sounded pretty decent. Of course, they won't please everybody,ever, but I think I'll probably be able to live with their decision. I can't imagine that they'd compromise the writing over the actor, either.

I really want Jason Isaacs for male Hawke as he can do thoughtful kind and angstful as well as an utterly evil bastard.

So Martin Sheen being an NPC is kind of easier to fit to a specific character (as the writers intended) then the VO for the PC.
So I was usually pretty happy with the VA from DA:O and ME1 and ME2. The thing with ME1 and 2s VO for the PC was that on some occasions (aka for a specific character of Shepard that I had in mind) the VO was suited perfect (specifically the male Shepard I found got better from ME1 to 2) and for some it was just a bit off

I think it was fora Bioware game, can't really recall it to be honest, some trailers (in game ones ...) inlcuded place holder VO. So granded how special the character Hawke is for DA2, I could well image that Bioware plans a "special reveal" for the Hawkes VA .

I hope you're right but woried is all.Especially since I'm RP'ing a rogue who I'd really like him not to have some gruff "I'm a bad-ass" voice. I already accepted not being an elf, Don't make me give up being a rogue cuz the character I made dosn't feel right. But if u want to sell me, tell me who ever voiced garrus is Hawke's VA too lol

That is however kind of the risk of a voiced PC so ... as they can't possible all fit the imagination of all the players. But I woudl assume that they (writers and VO directors, etc.) would take some extra care when it comes to the main protagonist.

No way should Brandon Keener be Hawke. Mostly because he has a very sexy voice, so if he's in DA2, he has to be a romanceable companion for my LadyHawke. Don't care what his character looks like

I wholeheartedly agree. This is pretty much the only reason I think going from silent to voiced has the possibility to screw up.

Oh, I don't know. I tend to play as a male at least once to see the content, and as Clive Barker once said, "give me a hero I can sleep with! Plus, it would probably make future trailers nicer to watch if ManHawke sounds tasty.

But I would be grumpy if they used Crispin Freeman or Brandon Keener, as they are prime choices for romance options.

Hmmm, I see your point there. Not that slightly fancying Geralt of Rivia in any way influenced my decision to buy the Witcher. Not at all.

To return to topic, if Hawke is voiced by posh English actors, I should imagine that the snarky/humorous options will be the ones done best. It's more the 'gruff' thing there may be a problem with

Very true! an english actor would be perfect but then the phychopaths lines may seem a little less intimidating
