I want Jennifer Hale for both genders. She can manage to do it, I'm certain.

You know how lots of girls play males because they say "if I have to stare at ass for 30 hours it might as well be a man's ass."
Fix'd.
Search your hearts ladies, you know it to be true.

We haven't announced our "Hawkes" yet, but rest assured that they all had to go through a fairly extensive audition, reading stuff from the game in multiple moods. Getting a main PC actor with enough range to cover the wide ranging situations they come across is a definite challenge, but really pays off when done right.
So far, I'm very happy with how both genders sound. Lots of range, good use of humor, and more than enough force when needed. If they weren't sounding good, we'd have replaced them already.

Y'know, you're not wrong in my case. I like making a hot looking male and then I like making him snog Zevran. Boy on boy. Rawr!

anyway, about this voice thing... maybe they've hired more than one actor for each gender... i mean, i'm hoping for at least a tough voice and a suave voice for men then a wise one and a seductive one for women...

Like you did with Mark Meer?
TO be fair to Mike, Shepard's voice may have had a different objective.Alexia89 wrote...

Thank you for taking the time to write back Mike and thank you for putting my fears to rest. It's good to see that Hawke still has the oppurtunity to be witty and clever! I was worried that my character would have to be super serious all the timeMike Laidlaw wrote...

But will we, the players, be allowed to decide when force is needed?Mike Laidlaw wrote...

I don't want to be forced into delivering a line a certain way if that's the only way to make that point. If I want to ask a specific question, will there generally be more than one way to do it (thus avoiding the problem of having Hawke needing information, but being unable to ask for it without breaking character)?shepard_lives wrote...
I assume the "red fist" lines will be delivered with a good amount of force. Plus, what do you mean "allowed to decide"? It's not like (I hope:D) Hawke will randomly deliver screamed lines like he were on a battlefield.
