Wonder what the deal on that is going to be?   Did EA buy Mythic?

Answering myself.  It appears that they did, and are closing Mythic's Warhammer forums to move their members here and they'll be members of these forums instead.

P. S.  I don't think that the link to the "Endless Trial" was in the left margin at lunch today (four hours ago now - it's 4:00 PM, CDST), but that is a Warhammer link.

On June 24, 2009, it was announced that as part of EA's restructuring plan Mythic Entertainment and BioWare would come together under a new RPG/MMO division headed by BioWare General Manager Dr. Ray Muzyka. It was also revealed that current General Manager of Mythic Mark Jacobs had left EA on June 23, 2009 and would be replaced by Rob Denton. According to General Manager Dr. Ray Muzyka the company is now called BioWare Mythic.

From Wikipedia's entry for Mythic Entertainment.

Btw: there was a community test several days ago with a Warhammer forum added for a brief time. By now, the BSN is really crowded (already was with the forums for the not-so-recent games) and I would appreciate another solution.

PS: what was it about great minds that think alike? ^.^

I'd really like a forum filter function now... The DA Toolset and NWN forums just got bumped farther down the page, bah.

That's a surprise. I've nothing against Warhammer (on the contrary, I was a tabletop gamer/hobbyist and I've played WAR a little), but the forum list is sure looking cluttered.

Technically, yes. Well, supporting is a better term as the game is post-release.

BioWare Mythic developed WAR as Mythic Entertainment, and last year they were absorbed into the BioWare family, before finally being officially renamed this year as BioWare Mythic - Thus bringing the total of BioWare studios to four - Mythic, Austin, Edmonton, Montreal.

So they weren't Bioware to begin with, but they're Bioware now?

That feels... kinda weird. I mean, how did it go? "Initiate Bioware Transformation!"...?  (Yes, my feelings on this topic are so unaccountably strange that they made me subvert the God-given power of punctuation.)

EA merged Mythic with BioWare as part of a reorganisation, but I don't know about the specifics. They started off, just as BioWare did, as an independent developer, but they were acquired by EA (not sure when for Mythic, I know BioWare was 2007) and now they're a division of BioWare.

Hey guys, we are in the process of moving the Warhammer Online boards into the BioWare Social Network. We are still testing out the new boards and some other minor changes. More details very soon.

Yeah, the site does a lot of caching and it got stuck there. I'm not sure the final placement though, that is for Chris to decide, and he gets back from Comic-Con tomorrow.

They were bought YEARS ago and only just recently merging with Bioware to create Bioware Mythic. Should be fun as I play WAR regularlely myself and would be good for a centralized forum.

It would be really nice if we could expand and collapse the various subforums under "Forum Home." As it is, the main menu is getting really crowded.

I just want to say that I especially like the way the Warhammer Online forum is organized into subforums and would like the other forums to follow suit!

Me too. I hope this can be a universal change so we don't have to scroll so much. Better use of space.

How about allowing us to decide how to order the forums? This is a "social" site after all... where are the real customization options? I can't imagine being a Warhammer fan right now and having to scroll through all of the other forums continually.

Unnecessary thread revival.
