Although a 3rd person perspective is usually fine, I would like for consoles to have an isometric view for bigger fights. Also, a button that shows all containers like the "tab" button would also be great. :D

I believe they said it wasn't possible in DA:O because of memory restrictions.

I vote yes for something that highlights containers.

This is a typical "crap wish I had known sooner" experience that many have.

No I mean, DA:O didn't have an Isometric view either on both versions.

Whether you want to call it "isometric" or "zoomed out" or anything else, I do really hope they do something for the console versions that allow you to play it more strategically. A way to view the whole battlefield and more easily direct multiple characters. Are there really so few people that think this would be a good idea???

Then I believe that Edge of Reality employees have their hands stuck up their arses. That's just stupid, there are loads of games on, say, PS3, which look much better and have much bigger areas and more things going on screen then DAO.

Games on consoles and PC are coded differently, in a lot of ways. Why for example PS3 is fine with 512 mb of RAM? Because it has a 9-core processor.

I don't understand how it would take up the memory... all you would need to have is move the view back so you can see everyone from a zoomed out view. :P

They mean the top down view as was available on DAO PC.

Well, I hope not, as isometric is false 3D top view used in games like Age of Empires 2.

as far as i understood it, it is even not clear if the pc version will get this isometric view again :crying:. because bioware wants to make the characters show much more details, the performance needs will get to high in an isometric view. furthermore this time dragon age 2 is developed for all three systems (pc, ps3, xbox) at the same time (da:o was developed for pc and carried over on ps3 and xbox). as you know, the consoles are much more limited in graphics and performance as the pc, which leeds us to point 1.

Have any of the developers confirmed "multiple characters"? So far, I have only seen Hawke, or Hawke and his sister on the screen shots.

EDIT: multiple as in more than 2

Isometric views never really did fly with console, similar to why stratergy games of such never port to console, you PC monkies can go ahead and keep that, it's cool, we got plenty of everything else on our end

I can understand that maybe a zoomed out view might not work as well on consoles as PC, but they should work on giving console gamers a similar way to play instead of (as is stated in the GameInformer cover story), make the games more dissimilar. Though they didn't explicitly state it, I take that to mean "leave the PC version similar to DA:O and make the console version more of an action RPG." I hope I'm drawing the wrong conclusions . . .
