Admittedly I was already sold on the game, but it looked really good in motion, and that's presumably a fairly early build. Am very excited now.

Also, David: Why do you want to rickroll people when you can Reaperroll them?

I hope that interface get's polished.
Mmm hmm. That was early, temp stuff to get us up to speed, but as to your request: done and done! They're doing so right now.

I just wished they had played a clip of hawke speaking, the wait to find out who will voice him is killing me
To me he sounded similar to Calian, which Lucy_Glitter so aptly summarized as a "young adult, upper middle class, english. Deep but with a lilty accent on it".
Could his be the voice in the very beginning? The one that sounds like the owner is getting stabbed?

What surprised me was how the guy in the video says how he just managed to get the mage like enemy to teleport around the battlefield, which I thought was impossible through magic in the normal world.
I interpreted the whole teleporting thing as that just being something they were doing while they were testing. Not that the final enemy would actually be teleporting around the map...
Gaider explained in the Cardinal Rules thread that just because a character seems to move instantaneously across short distances doesn't necessarily mean it's teleportation in the sense of breaking that cardinal rule... they could just be moving really fast, or using illusions or such.

Neither video no work, screenshot look like crap, big disappointment.
"It bears repeating that this is footage of a game super early on, and that it in no way reflects the quality of the finished product. That means you should reserve any final judgments until your holding the final version of the game in your hands."
If you're going to hate on the game, go ahead, but at least pay attention to what the article clarifies for you.

rb has been a popular troll of late, please ignore most of his negative comments...
on another note, i liked hearing about enemies teleporting around the battlefield... i'm wondering if that is an ability rather than a game development tool... if so, probably gonna replace flicker as my favorite talent...

Were they teleporting? I heard them talking about stealth mode, and them going in and out of it to attack you. I suppose its okay as a game element, but I always roll my eyes when I see an enemy literally vanish instead of just being sneaky-sneaky.

Thats one thing I wasn't fond of in Origins and Awakening- the stealthy rogues just disappearing looked sort of cheesy. Most of the warrior/rogue ability effects in general were a bit over the top- especially in Awakening. It just doesn't make much sense to me why warrior and rogues should have goofy effects all over them- mages you can justify with magic, but for warriors and rogues it just makes things look like an arcade game, IMO.
I know it was mentioned in the Comic Con previews that the effects are back more than ever, which is kind of disappointing- I don't need flames to emphasize Hawke is dashing forward- a solid animation will do just fine.

To be fair, that was the over-the-top Varric (I keep calling him Varren) narration we keep hearing about. We may get that ability, but it may not include flames.
I'm glad this time around spell effects vanish while talking to someone. Maybe if people actually reacted to a walking, enflamed, heavily armored ghost it'd be great, but they didn't. Any more than Leliana was like "ew, you have darkspawn blood on your lips, no thanks".
