I was asked to create this type of thread once. But I've played only 3 Shepards out of two dozen complete playthroughs, and one of those male Shepards was the one I was in the process of doing when my console died its red ring of death. So I actually don't have anything to offer the thread at the moment. Well, nothing like "We are male! We are Shepard! We are badass!"

I do use the relationship Shepard has with Ashley in ME1 in my debates over the difference between being racist and ignorant, considering Shepard can actually mold Ash's mindset a bit during their discussions. I also think it's Shepard's relationship with Jack in ME2 that makes the most out of her character development, though I always did loathe to have character development so intertwined with romance. It's realistic to what happens in real life, but there is just so little time spent with all the characters, you don't want it to end simply because you didn't pursue romance.

I find it interesting that when you play a female Shepard, you actually get an extra renegade interrupt leading into the assault on Archangel's base. I can't imagine a similar focus on Shepard's male status would have passed without comment from the community at large.

For instance, if anyone said a female Shepard shouldn't have been able to punch as hard as a male Shepard, well... the future of our continued mature discourse might be in danger. But have a male Shepard accepted by a male-dominated alien species while a female Shepard gets a colder response, I could see that. Hell, might have been interesting to see the Asari actually have prejudice over male humans versus female humans.

Well maybe its just me, and i want to Be clear i dont think this is nessarily  a negative, but Manshep definalty comes off as havign a better reign on his emotions then Female shepard imo

I have heard this, especially in that age-old, much maligned male versus female voice acting argument. Some point to Hale's strength in inflection. Others point out sometimes there can be too much inflection, particularly if that inflection is running contrary to how they want their Shepard to feel. You don't get to be a badass by sounding off your emotions every time you speak.

it was just made today.

I for one think Mark Meer is great when doing paragon dialogue, but his best Renegade piece is when you use the renegade options for Tali and Legions dispute and when you've had it with Kelham and threaten to cut his balls off. Plus Male Sheps get to be with Ashely and Miranda two best Romances imo. Man shep ftw!
