I kinda role play when playing the ME games. I guess rping can go as deep as you want it to go, even in a game like ME 1 or 2.

"I LOVE it when women fight over me!" Awesomely expressed, with awesome facial expression to go along with the line.
I currently finished a canon ManShep in ME2 (imported! He's awesome), and I've come to grow deeply fond of him; name's Venezio. Currently playing Alistair Shepard. I will also import him. I do prefer playing with FemShep--probably because I'm female and feel more connected-- but ManShep has its treats. I get to create handsome characters. I've grown fond of Meer's voice. And I feel I am getting a different side to Kaidan than I did with my FemSheps. He's still nice, but more wry, it seems. I like that. And I'm romancing Ashley, and I'm getting a nice new perspective on her character too.

lol, I never smack her in the face, that seems way to messed up for me even though it's just a video game. At least ME2 gives us that choice though lol.
Well i agree, i didn't hit her with my main shep because thats a bit messed up. But my renegade is the biggest ****hole to ever walk the face of the citadel, so he gladly clocked her, lol.

Looks like I'm the only who see strangeness here. Paragon never hit unarmed women. And Renegade just doesn't have reason for anger - she made good report abot him in ME1 (if you had enough intimidation skill of course).

ME1: Vanguard
ME2: Sentinel
Status: Paragon
VS: Ashley- Non LI

I'm on IIlos and I don' have a single point in renegade/maxed out charm....O_O

I can't remember his stats---Colonist/War Hero
Adept for both games
Paragade
Faithful to Liara.
I loved playing with him for some reason. I think it was because I had a character path/personality for him. I didn't with my first MShep and FemShep, even though my FemShep is one of my "canons."
He didn't like aliens in ME1-- after Elysium and Torfan, with only the Alliance defending against/going after batarians, he grew to believe humanity needed to make its own way in the world. But he does like the asari, if only because they're hot. And he did save the council, if only because he realized the political ****storm that would happen if they weren't saved.
Was originally recruited for a BAaT-like training program as a child, which his parents vehemently denied, but eventually relented because of Venezio's strong biotic potential and his knack for breaking things. A few months into the program, the Vyrnnus incident happened, and the children in his camp were sent back home. Luckily, his parents didn't believe in the "biotics are dangerous," propaganda, and were one of the more prosperous families on Mindoir; they hired a private asari tutor for him.
That probably contributed to his asari fetish.
Saved Shiala (because she was hot)
Saved Rana (because she was hot)
Killed the rachni queen (prejudice streak)
Renegade option saved Wrex
Believes the genophage was the right thing.
In ME2, after joining Cerberus, he mellowed out a bit. He didn't interact much with Garrus, Tali, or Wrex, but after having to forcibly interact with them in ME2, he became much more understanding. He also came to see how much he loved Liara as more than a fling.
Making stories is fun. ^.^

Victor Shepard
Background: Earthborn / War Hero
class: Infiltrator
Alignment: Paragade
LI: None (in-game), Joker (head canon - yeah, that's right, Victor plays for the same team)
Mostly Paragon with a few Renegade tendencies in ME1. In ME2, he went more Paragade, opting for more Renegade-ish choices during some of the loyalty missions (leaving Ronald Taylor to die, killing Joram Thalid).

He's a Spacer/War hero.
He's a paragon.
Soldier for ME1 and ME2.
Is single as of ME2.
My Shepard never really had many friends and always concentrated on improving himself so that he can be strong and be prepared for any mission that he needs to complete. In ME1, after he started getting a crew together, he dreaded having to speak with his squadmates because of his anti-social behavior. However, he learned he needed to talk to them in order for the team to work together better so he would talk to each squadmate and ask them what's up. Once he warmed up to everybody than it wasn't so hard and he even found a close friend in Garrus. He had a romance with Ashely, mainly because he was a little bit shocked that there was a woman interested in him on the Normandy. He never had many relationships before due to his focus on himself, so he was happy to actually spend some time with a woman that enjoys his company. This Shepard went on to defeat Saren and save the council, not wanting to throw the whole political structure into chaos.
In ME2, his antisocial behavior acted up again when he needed to make a whole new crew, however it wasn't so hard this time due to his past experience in ME1. He was happy to see old squadmates return like Garrus and Tali and he enjoyed the company of Jacob. After meeting Ashely again, while he didn't want to continue a relationship with her, still felt a little bit of pain after seeing how she reacted to him working for cerberus. He didn't mind being single again, he cared for Ashely but he wasn't in love with her.
Wow that went on way longer than I thought lol. I agree though making stories is fun; I just thought of all this on the fly with no planning.

Comparisons of Hale and Meer are superfluous, in my opinion. Meer hits certain lines way better than Hale does, and Hale hits certain lines better than Meer did. They both have ups and downs during their entire performance.

This thread won't grow to the femshep proportions due to maleshep players/fans being too busy not suffering from some weird persecution complex over Sheploo being the canon Shepard.

The femshep fans does seem to be more vocal about their prefered choice of gender regarding Shepard.
Regarding the Meer vs Hale I can only say this.
Meer=paragon Shepard
Hale=renegade Shepard
Both of them does the other alligment fine, but their preformance as them is just not as good compared to the other.

Hale tries too hard. Meer doesn't try much at all. I prefer Meer's acting to Hale's acting, though.
