Oh noes. I don't want a VO war. Granted I prefer Meer but still...*looks around* No wars!
Though I have to admit default Sheploo is really good looking. But I have seen custom Sheps that well...are extremely good looking. If I have to look at someone for 20+ hours it might as well be a good looking guy.
So I play with a mix of custom and default Sheps.
Haha, I don't mean to start any wars. I just think that they both sound a little emotionless, and it's funny that people hear it in one, but not the other.
Some lines are just done better by Hale, and vice versa. I think Meer felt like a much better renegade, more force into his lines... some lines.

I agree, Meer's renegade lines are bad ass lol. I like them both to be honest. Only vo's that Hale does that I can't stand are pretty much every time she talks to Jacob.
Not to reflect poorly on Jacob, he's one of my favorite squaddies.

I don't agree that Meer's performance is wooden. I was just playing through Overlord again last night, and I absolutely loved his delivery of Shepard's conversation with Archer at the end. I do think he was a bit stiff in ME1, but he improved a lot with ME2.
Absolutely. He really conveys a sense of outrage at what they've done to David. One of Meer's best performances, IMO.

Too bad Meer's performance was blown away by Templeman's in Overlord.

Also, I love his banter in LotSB in the taxi.
When Liara said "You're enjoying this aren't you?" I was totally expecting a "Of course!" from my shepard. It's too bad he didn't, that would have been awesome.

Also Hale's deliver of "It's a big stupid jellyfish" was nowhere near as hilarious as Meer's was.
Adding to that, Meer did a better job with the "She's surrounded by geth and pointing a gun at us, SHOOT HER!!" line on Noveria than Hale.

At Peak 15 in ME1 when you go get the cure for that doctor. After you make the cure some Asari barges in with some geth. That's the renegade dialogue option for that convo.

Another line where I think Meer easily outperformed his counterpart. His delivery of that line gets me rolling every time, but I can barely hear Hale's rendition of it.TS2Aggie wrote...

I'd like to see a Shepard with a real beard like the one in Dragon age 2 on Garrett Hawke
Me too. He's not really military anymore, so why can't my Shep grow a real beard? Beards are essential to manliness!
