I like ME1 for what is impossible to guess Shepard's nature by his shiny red eyes.

I don't like those red ME2 eyes, either. Normally friendly eyes suddenly turning hard could appear equally terrifying and more realistic. A character which you can identify with creates greater immersion effect. I must say that I think ME1 overall is a more enjoyable game. It's got a greater epic feel and more charm with all that personal interaction and team comments everywhere. And proper worlds to explore (sometimes for great scenery), just like a real space adventure.Wizz wrote...

As for Gene, he acquired a reputation for being ruthless after the tragedy on Mindoir, where all his loved ones and friends where slaughtered. But this is because he's actively seeking troublemakers up, wherever they are, sworn to chase them down. Evil people bring out those bad memories and the worst in him. Even Saren should be nervous with a man like Gene on his tail. But "Mean Gene" is a good guy at heart. Treat him and the people he care for fairly and he'll be fair to you.

As you can understand, under his armor, Gene looks almost equal to that guy (add special combat training...)IndigoWolfe wrote...

Maybe a younger brother to Gene survived the tragedy on Mindoir, unbeknownst to Gene. They never did find all corpses in the burnt-down houses. Have a pic of Alex? He is a Shepard after all, right?Reverie wrote...
@Domar - He almost looks like the meaner, tougher older brother of my shep Alex.

PS, in case somebody wants to try this or a different scenario out, I've given the means to bring forth Gene in the "Reproducing Mass Effect 1 Characters" thread (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/128/index/5154416).

I guess I have to give an example now. So...more of Gene?

I'll update my pics of Gene when he's gone deeper into his mission. Other malesheps may be more good-looking, but I rather like this bad-ass marine type of hero, you know, as tough as they come.
So it might not come as a surprise that Gene's preferred armor is Heavy Hydra. As illustrated later...

Shepard scaring batarians into submission and forcing them to give him the codes to the Reapers' comm channels.

Shepard hacking into the Reaper mothership to upload a virus that will destroy them all.

Regarding separate threads for malesheps and femsheps, I could agree with you. But I gather the purpose of the femshep thread is to illustrate the special fun of playing a female character and likewise about the maleshep thread. The face codes with which to reproduce them all might be better located in an other thread, in order to facilitate finding them. For the same reason, I even think it's a good idea to keep the face codes for ME1 and ME2 characters in separate threads. That's why I created the "Reproducing Mass Effect 1 Characters" thread.
I must say that I understand the drive in the femshep thread. A female character does bring a new and enjoyable dimension to the game. One would think that a game like this would primarily attract guys, but it appears a lot of girls are drawn to it, too - or that many guys like the change with a female character. I confess I belong to the latter category. While I have one male career going, Gene's, I have in fact two female careers running, Enola's and Grayson's. I started with the former but diverted into the two latter. This trio brings most of the inherent variety out of ME.

This is Alex. He may look familiar because he is a slightly tweaked face code of someone else's male shep on these boards. Even so I still consider him my shep.

Wow, he reminds me of Ezra, a character I created a few months back:

Or was he based off of someone else's character? It is much harder to create unique male Shepards. Bioware needs to give us more options for the male characters.

More generation options for male characters? Yes, please!

You can click and drag the screens to the taskbar to view a bigger version. Still not the original 1280x1024 resolution though which is stored on my PC.Domar wrote...
@Skilled Seeker - I bet those shots of Adam look really good in full size, especially the first one. But we don't get a proper look of him with eyes and all here. So he's rather anonymous or mysterious...

I like the mysteriousness, it makes him appear more intimidating and dangerous as you can't read him as easily.
Check out the show your Shepard thread to see pics of his face. If you want to see more I will happily upload. I also have a female Shepard if you check my user album.

Drag to the taskbar? I'm not sure that I follow you. Anyway, when using ImageShack, you know which type of link to use for your pics so that the original size of them is also accessible to others by clicking on the smaller presentations seen in the forum, right? All pics look better in original size.Skilled Seeker wrote...

Checked out your maleshep in the other thread and the femshep in your profile. Yes, I could very well envisage that guy as a character with some depth and the woman as a commander. Good job! To reinforce the mysterious impression of the maleshep, I might have chosen darker armor. It would be fun to see how that would turn out.
