So you never found someone else's creation better than the stock appearance either? The thread for sharing ME2 face codes is full of great malesheps, IMO, as is this thread as well. And I agree with Revan92, custom made characters make the game more personal, i.e. adds to the immersion effect.Noristias wrote...
When I started playing Mass Effect for the first time i've made a custom face, but after first playthrough I came to the conclusion - "He looks like sh*t!". That's why I prefer stock appearance
But the taste is different, so anything goes.

I've visited this thread, but Sheploo is still my favourite maleshep. I don't need a custom face to made game more personal. Anyway, my weird, earlier shepDomar wrote...

My point with custom made characters is that if one happens to create a figure which one really likes it brings special pleasure to see him or her in action in those wonderful ME settings, since it brings a unique flavor to the show the entertainment of which is partly thanks to one's own creation. In this way, it adds to the overall enjoyment of the game. Unless one finds "Sheploo" without competition.
But I agree, it's rather difficult to create a decent maleshep with the limited tools given. It's somewhat easier to generate a good-looking femshep, IMO.

I've only ever made two Shepards (one male, one female) and they both have custom appearances. It definitely makes the game more personal, knowing that your Shepard could be the only one of his kindRevan92 wrote...
I don't mind playing with Sheploo, but i prefer customs sheps since it feels more personal. How about you guys?

I tend to just go with Sheploo. I can never get my custom to look quite right.

Regarding separate femShep/maleShep threads, I think it's kind of needed so that one gender doesn't completely drown out the other.
Also, there's much less likelihood to be whining about Mark Meer's voice in a male Shep thread than there is in the femShep one. I've been trying to be accepting of other peoples' opinions but the constant and chronic b!tching about it is making me want to punch a baby. Better to have a place to discuss maleShep where people are less likely to be so nasty about that sort of thing.

Rightly so! And naturally, too. This game ought to attract people from all over the world, so one would expect many of them to feel more in tune with a custom-made character than the official hero and enjoy the game more that wayPrinceLionheart wrote...

I agree with you on both counts. A united maleshep/femshep thread might have shadowed the merits of either character type along the lines of the usual man vs woman debate with one hardcore fan group campaigning against the other. And I've never understood the complaint about Mark Meer's voice or voice acting. The thought hasn't even occurred to me yet in-game that there's something wrong with it. I think it's great fun to play femsheps as well, especially a good-looking one of my own creation, and it's entertaining to watch the Femshep Fan thread at times, but I definitely feel more at home here. Enough said.TS2Aggie wrote...

Why?
I have 4 MaleSheps and 3 FemSheps.
I find them equally awesome.

My 2nd Shepard but my very first male Shepard. Inspiration came from
action flicks & games with corny one liners.
I wanted him to look somewhere between Arnold schwarzenegger & Duke Nukem, but I'm not sure if nailed it down.
Name: Duke Nathan Shepard
Pre-enlistment: Earthborn
Psy Profile: Warhero
Attitude: Renegade
