I really like the way Tali turned out in ME2, and Jack is a very beautiful woman, so I understand the romance option in those directions, but...Samara? Forgive me, but, as impressive and fascinatingly mysterious as a person the Justicar may be, she looks as cold as a fish sometimes. That's just my impression, though.

Oh, also, a bit of a sidetrack: If you beat ME1 once as an adept, and do it again with the same char, be wary of using Singularity on the Geth at the train station on Eden Prime - I ended up flinging a Geth off the side of the map; got stuck because my team kept detecting an enemy(couldn't leave the station).

I believe you run the risk of that happening in many places, regardless of class or level. On Feros alone, I've had similar experiences on three different locations, and in the final battle on the Citadel one more.

That's a real maleshep fan with humour alright

But, seriously, It looks like you have a really good maleshep there. ;)

Copying the above post resulted in some really weird mix with other quotes containing images, so I had to pull it out into a separate post. Sorry about this. But this site behaves very strangely at times.

@Domar...here's one of the LotSB vids I made and uploaded. If you click this link, it starts right at that moment from the gif. It happens when you do the Paragon interrupt there, so no, it's not a MaleShep only thing. That particular interrupt is easy to miss, though :D

Very nice vid,  Systemlord. Thanks for the info. I make sure I'll be better prepared next time  ;)

So, to get some discussion going - who's your love interest of choice (if any) for your ManShep(s), and why?

Mine is Ashley. I really like her strong, no-nonsense attitude. She doesn't take crap from anybody, and that really suites Felix Shepard who by and large has the same attitude. Her love of poetry also shows that she has a softer side beneath the tough exterior.

I also love that she comes from a big family she is still close to, which me (not my Shep, me the player) can really relate to. I imagine that to my Shep, who lost his parents on Mindoir, her big family is something he never had but deep down wishes he did.

No one in ME2 even came close to luring me away from Ash, so I stayed loyal to her, and I'm hoping it will pay off in ME3.

So, who is everyone else's favorite LI? And let's stick to just stating our preferences, no need to argue that your choice is better than others!

^To me is Tali.

I was disappointed that Tali wasn't LI in ME1.

But I do love Ashley romance a lot.

And Jack's.

Never did Miranda( while I did Jacobs with FemShep, I don't get myself).

And for some reason I never liked Liara much and because of that her romance too.

Since I have played through all the romances at least once I think it is a time for me between:

Tali and Jack.

The others are good and fun to play but I enjoyed those two the most.

Liara is the only romance thats available to maleshep I like. Althrough If Samara was an option, I would proberly also have a playthrough with a Samara romance.

Honestly I'm not fond of any of the LIs for my Shep. Samara is the only one he's remotely interested in but because of her code would never pursue her.

I love my Male Shepard. I play as the default male, since I can't get a decent custom one. . . . anyway. He is 100% paragon, probably my most paragon Shepard, since my two mains are paragade and renegon. James Shepard is an Adept who romances Kaidan.

Liara. She had the most interesting story arc through ME1 - ME2 and generally seems like the most well rounded and compelling character.

Though I gotta say if there was more time Jack's could've been amazing, even though it was already very good. Unfortunately it was just a couple chats in the basement of the ship, if there were a few off-Normandy scenes that brought about her trust in Shepard it could've been AMAZING.

Best bro-mance is Kaidan/Shep though. I plan on exploiting it extensively in my fan fic.

I just find Kaidan and Ashley to be out of character to be gay.
Garrus and Thane too.

I wish the game supported bromances / friendships better. There's elements for friendship, but in ME2, a lot of conversations are closed off if you don't romance them. Jack keeps telling me to f*** off, and Garrus won't ever be done his damn calibrations. I wish you could delve deeper into their characters just as a friend.

I was a little miffed, but I wouldn't say I was disappointed about that.  I totally understand why she wasn't.  But, I'd have to say Tali is my default LI for my Shep.

I like Liara, but I see her more as a "little sister" than a LI.  Still, Liara rates higher than Ashley on my list who is third.  I'll also take Jack over Miranda any day.  I'm not that crazy about either of them as LI's to be honest (romanced Jack once, just to see what it was like; a bit bi-polar for me).  I know both of these gals warm up to you if you complete successfully their loyalty missions, but Miranda is still rather "distant" and "cold" with the rest of the crew.  Jack....Jack is who she is; she doesn't try and hide this.

Sorry about  the ramble.

Wholeheartedly agreed.  I can't recall how many times I've made this similar point on other threads.  Garrus is my Shep's bro; he's always got his back (just like old times :P).  I'd love to actually have a friendship conversation with him or other members of the crew if you're not romancing them.  It'd be nice to talk with Jack a bit more, and as well as a little more with Miranda (I may not care for her as a LI, but she's still not a bad person).

Miranda a lot, Jack once.

I would SO have Liarra in a set of open toed heels in a heartbeat.

I never tried Kelly or Tali.  Kasumi is cute though - too bad she's  impossible to romance.

Agreed. My male Shepard, Ezra, found Miranda to be intriguing but had little interest in romancing her. Doesn't mean that he should be unable to talk further with Miranda. This oversight actually reinforces the idea that people see Miranda only as a tool to use, whether it be because of her body or skillset. :(

Edit: @Mesina2 - well, let's put it this way, I don't think many people would find that guy attractive...

I think I like Tali's personality best. So next time I enter the ME2 world with a maleshep, I might seek her company more often. But I suspect Jack to be quite warm, tender and affectionate under all those tatooes - if one manages to fully win her trust and make her feel at home somewhere. Kasumi is also very charming and interesting, so it's a pity that one cannot interact with her much. Miranda and Samara are too cold for me.

Ashley is otherwise the natural choice for me in ME1. She's always entertaining in some way or other. I mean, when you're walking around in the wonderful Citadel, the technological marvel and cultural center of the whole galaxy, she might remark: "I can't tell the aliens from the animals". If you win a girl like Ashley over to your side, she'd never leave you. Not really.

Liara comes into the picture almost solely when pursuing a femshep career. No other option feels interesting or exciting enough then.

Gotta be honest, Mesina2....he's got this whole Michael Myers thing going for him.  BUT....I wouldn't call that ugly; is he creepy?  Yes....very much so; the scars and glowing red eyes makes your Shepard seem creepy to me.  Ugly?  Not at all.

Tali is very sweet, and it was nice to see her as a LI in ME 2.  Jack can be quite warm, but is shown by being "Paragon" with her.  It's an outer shell with Jack - gotta tear down the walls she built up to let you in to see that she can be vulnerable.

It'd be nice to actually have more conversation with Kasumi (and Zaeed, not to mention everyone) but Kasumi (and to an extent, Zaeed) I really wish I could have chatted with like other members of my crew.  Liara is also sweet and kind, and I see her more as a Sister to my Shepard.

Samara may be cold, but, I understand exactly why she comes off as cold.  It's her Code that makes her seem that way.  Much like Jack,  you have to look past the Code to see a good and caring person in Samara, which I have.  Miranda I will agree can be cold.  I don't care for her as an LI, but if given the chance, she can be shown to be a decent and nice person.

True, there may be good reasons for Samara's and Miranda's coldness. In the latter's case, one could see it partly as a form of protection not to get involved and hurt (again).

But when there are more open-hearted and friendlier ladies in the company, too, I don't see much point in pressing on in that colder direction.
