How about a banner that uses a helmeted Shepard?

Ya'know... for those of us who don't use/don't like/don't care about Sheploo. Or prefer to use custom MSheps.

(To me, there is a distinct difference between Sheploo and Male Shepard, but YMMV)

Hhrnnngh. If only I have PS on my laptop. =/

Also, I just now realized the OP has this picture (which was a gift-ish for me) that I colored up there. Niiiiiiiice.

i hope you dont mind...

Not at all! =>

Also, yeah, Bosch might be a little too youthful for Shepard (maybe he'd be better as a turian or drell), now that I think of it... still, an interesting thought IMHO

i can see him playing a male version of tali

Does any one else think that Shepard should display more emotion?  Sadness, anger, laughter, frustration, etc., through not only his voice inflections, but in facial expressions.

It appears that the voice directors have done a very good job of making Shepard as emotionless as possible, and at the same time, very little emotion seen from his facial expressions in the game.  Whether it be random dialog, or in a cut scene for example.

I really do think that it would add tremendously to the immersion of the game, if Shepard simply felt.

Most of the time, I can't really tell what Bioware is going for, with Shepard's emotions.  I can understand that he would be emotionally subdued if ME was just a true Gears of War clone, with roided-out bald space marines.  As an RPG, part of the connection the player has is with his/her decisions, and how they affect Shepard.  I guess that's why we have fanfic, though.

The fanfic is nice to have.

As you alluded to, it's an R(role)P(play)G, and your connection to the character that you are representing (role), should be as immersive as possible.  It only makes sense, to me anyway.  I'm not a game developer obviously, maybe it could have something to do with causing headaches to the developers for some technical reason.  I don't think so though.

Maybe we will see more of this in future RPG's.

For me personally, writing a M!Shepard in fan fiction is far more easier than a F!Shepard (speaking as a woman m'self). That isn't to say one's better than the other (I myself am neutral on the debate overall). I think that semi-emotionless quality (as much as I hated Overlord, Mark Meer did a phenominal job in the V/O for that one) makes it easier for me to really further build a character on that particular Shepard. Sink my hooks into role-playing him a little more and really enrichens the game experience.

Buuuuuuut that's just me. Some people play straightforward and that's alright. I guess I'm just too much of a storyteller/artist that way.

I think I see your point.  I wouldn't want a radical shift in portrayed emotion.  Imo, the voice inflections from both Hale and Meer are monotone and bland.  Due to voice direction I assume, which also matches how their emotions, or lack of them,  are portrayed in the game.  It certainly couldn't be taken very far, but a little more emotion would be nice, for me anyway.

I always customize my Shepard, that's always one of my favorite parts of games where you can customize. Of course, after you've finished your character, you find mistakes you made that infuriate you, but it's still fun to create your own person.

the mistakes cna grow on you thogh, i  ended up obsessing over my sheps cheekbones for the first 5 hours of the game but evnetualy i grew to accept and love his flaws

Cheekbones are always the thing I fret over and regret. I would've had a perfect femshep if I hadn't made her cheeks so gaunt. So infuriating

Dude same here. Between the Cheekbones and the Nose. I always end up tweaking my Canon Shepard for every playthrough.

*psst!*  Your, uh... "balls of steel"...?  "Steel" is spelled wrong.

Or if not, Shepard may wish to talk to Kasumi.  XD
