There is a recent Japanese RPG, White Knight Chronicles, by Level 5, in which you create your own playable avatar. The customization is truly impressive and it goes to the smallest imaginable detail. Maybe BioWare should turn a little to what other games are doing in terms of character customization, for, in my opinion, it had always been a weak spot in their games. Same for clothing, but that belongs to another discussion entirely. We want preetier characters, BioWare, make us fabulous!!
The best character customisation I've seen is for APB (I hope it's OK to post the link here as it's anothe EA-published game):
Perhaps it's a bit much hoping for something this advanced for DA2 - as APB is a MMO so you're going to be stuck with your character for a long time. But it's really impressive.

I hope that at the very LEAST DA2 will have hair manipulation options. Im sick of seeing hairstyles I like but being put off by them because they are too short or too long or some hair being not where I want it to be.

I just want to mess with the forms a little bit. Maybe adjust the hips and bust. So happy there'll be no more man hips and such. My biggest concern is hair. From this screen, I am not impress, but it's still early days. Hopefully it's something they will adjust. I'm not so vain that it would put me off buying the game though. Character customisation means far too much to me, but not that much. Probably something to do with being an artist.

Seriously, I really like the idea of varying characters appearances beyond the usual face only, however I'm pretty sure that the resulting clipping issues would be very difficult to address.
Also what is APB?

If DA:2 has something like this I'd be in heaven and probably need to use some vacation time
