Haha. :)

That really needs to be fixed. The character models could be kept identical for all I care as long as they fix monkey-mode.

Well, she's a shapeshifter who can transform at will so maybe she can be a little overconfident (and get stabbed in the heart like any other overconfident villain).
I feel the general art-direction pleases me. I suppose female fighters will have that peculiar section of the body protected or at least... Or maybe, they will boast a fighting style that encourages distracting male opponents (whatever helps suspend disbelief).

Frankly, I would rather have both the old and the new style coexist and being told that they are proofs of the cultural differences between Ferelden, the Free Marches and Tevinter but I know it won't be the case.

Oh and more feminine armor, like Flemeth has! That's the perfect armor for a woman in game.

PS: seeing Flemeth i think the female models are going to be great!

For someone who is a fighter wading into melee with a sword and a shield...yeah I'd agree.

For a centuries old Witch who can transform into a dragon...I'm not sure it matters how much skin is exposed.

For Flemeth, it's fine. But the comment I was responding to put Flemeth's armor forth as a good template for all female armor in the game.

I blame my reading comprehension skills. :)

I do think it'd be nice to have armor that doesn't seem to be designed for sexyness before practicality in battle.  But its almost such an expectation in fantasy games - men in armor look like a walking tank, women in armor look like they're wearing a bikini at the beach.

I say either have practical and realistic armor for both genders, or eliminate the double standard and let my male warrior run into battle in furry shorts and a metal bondage harness like the He-Man cartoons from the 80's.

Are we going to get a slider to control the size of boobs and butts like in Age of Conan? I ask this purely out of artistic concern for the product's integrity.

Also I like small boobs and a great butt.

Practical armor over metal bikini. Maybe sexy female clothing in areas with no fighting will satisfy some people ?

Well, I could'nt find any pictures of a girl in a kevlar bikini, but it is theoretically possible, so just think of it as such. :)

practical armor for women doesn't work in fantasy epically in games for one good reason

Since we're on the topic of female body types, I would like to see a few things, or perhaps options.

(1) Smaller breasts.

(2) Stronger women. A female warrior should not have thin arms or a lanky body. She should be well built, have some muscles, maybe some nice woman-abs. Mind you, if someone wants to have a super model or porn star body, I won't deny them, but I'd like my option too, please.

Really, that's it. I didn't mind the DA:O walk or sitting with their legs open. I sit like that, but then again, I'm a bit of a tomboy. Heh.

I have to agree, some of the boobs were wayyy too big. Like Enora's.... Her boobs didn't even fit in her dress properly, they looked awkward.

Yeah I'd love to see an "athletic" type of build. Not like female bodybuilder, but smaller breasts and toned muscles would be awesome. This is probably my ideal bodytype aesthetically for females (males too really).

Just last night my wife asked why every woman in Leliana's song was built like a man. I told her it was because those women were warriors and were diesel because they had to be to survive.

They weren't, really, though. It's like they had the skeleton of a man but with little stick arms and stuff. They did carry themselves like men for the most part. The ladies of DA are more like Geth or something.

1) Some smaller but we don't need them all smaller, Morrigan's size suits her. We just need a bit of variety when it comes to boob size, not all one size.

2) Well personally I don't like muscles on my girls, the last thing I want to be doing is running around with some she beast with huge arms and thighs like tree trunks, I like my women petite and the more femine the better. With some small treaks I don't see a problem with the female bodies we had in DAO, they just need refining a little. Once again if we have the choice how we make our own character then everybody is happy, and more variety and different bodies with the characters we don't play.

I hope in DA2 the shape of the female bodies will be more realistic, that is all.

They have their own rig, now. Man-shoulders and boy-hips begone. :D

That's definitely a plus. Now if they can fix the female's sitting animation.

This is a fantasy game it does not have to be realistic! Don't tell me that in DAO the heart wasn't exposed...and in WoW women run around in underwear almost.

The armor has to look good, not like a walking trashcan...And Flemeth's armor is perfect IMO. If i wanted to play something realistic i would have played Sims...

There wasn't a single set of medium or heavy armor with a boob window in DA:O. The leather armor was ridiculously low cut though. It's possible to make functional armor that looks good on both genders and doesn't sacrifice utility.

And I don't play WoW.

But - to be fair - its a little weird that all the guys do dress up in the walking trashcan outfit.

Now either the world has latently magical armor so that it is protective regardless of how much skin it covers or it doesn't.  If it does, I can imagine that most men would shed a few pounds off their heavy armor gladly.  If it doesn't, then you have to wonder why any woman would want to be a warrior ("Wait, let me get this straight, I'm supposed to wear that into battle?  Should I paint a big target on my exposed cleavage too while I'm at it?")

Its a bit like fantasy women's armor that has high heeled boots.  Who in their right mind would fight in high heels (and the balance issues they bring)?  I can see fighting WITH high heels - those things are dangerous! - but in them?  Nuh-uh.

Yeah - I actually didn't think the armor in DAO was actually that bad, comparatively.  I think the leather and lesser tend to be the most exposed.  I know there's some argument about sculpted chest pieces or not, but overall I thought DAO actually had a relatively reasonable take on its armor (wish it had a bit more variety though).

The game might not have to be realistic, but it has to be believable, while Flemeth's armor would work for say a caster, any of the two other classes, if specced for melée, would'nt be particularly believable using it.

And on the subject of WoW, my female Tauren Warrior certainly looked much like a Tank, with the possible exception of a couple of novelty pieces that noone seriously used.

Well I used to equip Leliana with Dalish Armour, to contrast Morrigan as a AW, and Wynne in her dressing gown and comedy hat.

I felt the Dalish Armour suited Leliana in her role as a bard/archer, being a little revealing yet offering some protection and flexibility.

EDIT: Alsoi shoudn't the Leliana's Song armour, Battledress of the Provocateur, been in some way, oh I don't know, provacative?
