like when I made a mage I had to make a girl because I didn't want to have to look at a dude in horrible looking robes for 11ty hours
HAHA, I bypassed this because I played first as human noble, got to "Nature of the Beast" and got the mage specialization you-know-where from you-know-whom.

While I like myself and all, I have to say--people close to your size are the lucky ones. They do get in the way. It can be hard to hug other women, it's very hard to find bras of the right size because clothing-makers think women with a rack that large all weigh 300 pounds; if you want to sleep on your stomach it can get very uncomfortable or even painful, you can get back pains from carrying them around all day, very old dudes (like older than your dad) sometimes leer at you, and guys with small hands don't want to date you--although, to be fair, you probably won't want to date them either.CalJones wrote...
Me too. Big boobs get in the way. I am glad I am no more than a B cup in real life. If I had my way I'd be a AA.
I know your pain! (And Ladybright's!) Seriously, and being only 5'1" makes it even worse. Can't find jeans or slacks the right length; can't find blouses that don't either squeeze your bosom like an anaconda or make you feel like you're walking around in a freaking tent! And plus, I have seen my grandmother and know the future of my breasts, whereas women with smaller bust sizes don't have those kinds of worries.leonia42 wrote...
Trust me, too big can be a bit of an
issue. Especially when your bust size means you have to buy bulkier
clothes despite the rest of your body being "normal" sized. What can
I say, I'm a top-heavy lass with huge tracts of land but I don't want to
be limited in my clothing options either. Not that this totally relates
to DA, of course..
But really, this is why I like the idea of different breast and body sizes--it feels more realistic. I would like to be able to play a character whose bosom resembles my own, and then a character who is tiny and delicate in the bust like some of my friends, and maybe even see the difference in how people treat you. It's interesting. And of course, if you have a large bosom, you know that not everyone prefers that, unlike what Hollywood seems to think; plenty of guys actively prefer women with a smaller bust, so it's not like it should be some sort of advantage. Average tends to be preferred in real life, as opposed to what porn stars with implants and tall, anorexic runway models would seem to indicate, but many people have some kind of preference for something outside the average. I dig the scrawny nerds with glasses, I'd take one of them over Brad Pitt (I like him as an actor in most roles, but I never wanted to get it on with him), so I know that all too well.
I also really hope to see those gorilla-hands go. But I hated the stick-thin limbs on females... the neck on my fighter was thicker than her thighs... it was so weird. I hope that will be fixed, too. I didn't mind the overly tiny waist so much on the Titan Quest female model because she at least had defined muscle tone and looked like she could fight.
I would love having a model like Gina Carano for my female warrior, alaska. Ever since I saw her, I can't help envisioning Rowan looking a little like her. She looks feminine and pretty, but there's no question in my mind she could kick my ass six ways to Sunday.Bugzehat wrote...
I hope so. It always bothered me that female warriors would be skinny while male mages would be buff.alaska the 1st wrote...
As
said in another thread the body type should at least differ for each
class like the rouges should be the most athletic build, mages an
average build, warriors should have muscle for women in particular
should look at some one like Gina Carano muscular but still very sexy
And it bothered me, too, Bugzehat--the skinny female warriors and the buff male mages! You don't play a female warrior and expect her to be scrawny. I'm still hoping for warriors of Gina Carano-style muscle, lean-muscled rogues, and either scrawny or plump mages. Four basic types would make me quite happy. Even better if they gave you sliders like in Neverwinter Nights 2, where you could shrink the height and widen the character and the clothing would size itself appropriately. That was awesome.
The shape of the model for what people seem to think is Flemeth so far--the white-haired woman--does look better, but what I'm really hoping for is variety.

It's probably too much to hope for, considering the way DA is done -- each armour and garment type you can put on effectively serves as "body", so to have variance in this regard they'd have to make full set of armour/clothing meshes for each variant. And that's lot of work.Wynne wrote...

Some other games go around it by scaling the whole figure up/down in some manner, but that in turn can have impact on how animations which involve interactions with other characters sync (or not) so it may be reason why DA doesn't do it.

There wasn't a single set of medium or heavy armor with a boob window in DA:O. The leather armor was ridiculously low cut though. It's possible to make functional armor that looks good on both genders and doesn't sacrifice utility.
And I don't play WoW.
I mainly played as a rogue, and the armor was low cut. Not to mention the dalish armor...it had like a big targed on the belly saying STAB ME.
As for the women being sex dolls (someone mentioned that)..let's dress up Morrigan with a turtleneck. What if she gets stabbed? OMG she is too sexy to cast...
I am a girl myself, i do not wear provocative stuff on the street and i am NOT asking for thongs or something in DA. Just a more feminine armor...and i really like Flemeth's but it's my opinion as i said before :Pi might just snatch it if a toolset will be provided
Look i have another example of a nice woman armor (for rogues as i love rogues):
http://www.giantbomb...017/51-1318413/
I liked the Dalish armor for female rogues, thought it was the best looking armor. I think too many are getting hung up on wether or not it's practical in the real world or not when none of that matters in a fantasy world. I was really disappointed in the fact that there weren't any really good Dalish leathers or Dalish weapons in the game.

I am also quite fine with there being a default body size for all the classes, too. If it makes the cutscenes work better, then that's fine by me.
I also liked having buff (man) mages in DA:O. Why do magic-users have to be skinny? I think it is a silly stereotype. Besides, there is plenty of time for learnin' books and workin' on your fitness.

I'm a female, and not some drooling lecher or anything- to quote Alistair. But who says realistic body and hair movement isn't necessary? An RPG should strive for realism as far as I'm concerned. It's simple aesthetics.slimgrin wrote...

Might I also suggest some movement when they're supposed to move? With hair as well. I'm sure this is probably harder to implement technically than it sounds, but surely the tech is there.SnakeHelah wrote...
Make breast sizes different, different models for elfs, humans, dwarfs etc. Make them be different size. And shape.
What have I done to this poor, innocent thread?
Jiggle mechanic isn't necessary for a game like this. And while the tech is there, devs usually get it wrong.
Unless, of course, its a game in the Street Fighter series.

It's not simple to do though. Hair, clothing, breasts - anything that moves in relation to something else. It won't happen in this game. This isn't Capcom's Mt framework we are talking about here, but a modified version of the same old engine for DA:O ( as far as I know )
Mt framework: It could handle all the movement you could dream of, but it doesn't belong to Bioware. And Bioware quite frankly has nothing on Capcom when it comes to animation. Note Felicia in the video.

If you want breast physics, go play Dead or Alive. The girl takes one step and her boobs are bouncing all over the place.
I don't think anyone is arguing for Jello boobs here. Breast physics I could take or leave, and in armor they wouldn't be moving much anyway, but hair physics would be nice. Even WoW has it.

Currently females walk, run and stand like males. While the manly stance and strides looks generally good, it does not work on females especially mages. There should be different posture and movement animation for different gender, race and class.
female anatomy I have been ****ing and whining even before the launch of the game but I suppose Bioware will not change that... could not chage that maybe

scaling breasts is not to see it bounce, but it is a way to create myself within the game realistically.
why would i want to play the witcher when all i can play is a male character that cannot be customised? Not to mention games nowadays can customise every single little details and run smoothly like a real person.
