+1 sticky.

Edit: Moderator says only popular and active threads get stickied... Am I missing something?

There now maybe he/she will see the obvious :P

Even if I haven't entered a challenge (yet).
Hmm... Scripted systems are legal submissions, eh?

 <muttering "Sticky!"...>

Ok, got another theme. It does touch on an earlier theme, but is not *quite* the same...

Title: Grounds and Gardens

Summary: Recreating the grounds and gardens of mansions, cottages and hovels. Stables, kennels, victorian walks. Formal gardens, hedgemazes and arbors. Water features like fountains, bird baths and koi ponds. Informal cottage gardens (with a romantic rose-arbor gate) and kitchen gardens and an herbwife's herbiary. Formal Japanese gardens, rock gardens, even dwarven crystal gardens. Marauding crows and the scarecrows to repel them. The hum of bees and a lark ascendant singing. Seasonally spawning rare herbs and guardian brownies.

<and snails, boss. *rainbow* snails from the bay of stones. *choice*>

Hmmm, and snails.

By all means! I think good scripted systems are definitely under-represented :-)

If you want to have a go this month (Winter Stuff) just let me know and I'll shoot you an invite to the CC Makers group.

If you want to send me an invite, that'd be great.
Although, I may be acting more as a support position for a little while.
IE: "I made this cool new snow placeable to make it look like snow is covering the ground in any tileset, but it'd be even cooler if there was a system to automate covering the entire ground with it when the weather was snowing... and go away when it stopped."
I could jump in and make that happen.

By the way, I think that'd be a cool idea.

Theme Suggestions:

Dragon Stuff: All things dragon related.  Alternate dragon (or dragon-related) creature models (there are a ton of different ones from different regions that are not well-represented in NWN), dragon-themed clothing/armor, dragon-themed weapons, dragon-themed miscellaneous items, dragon-related placeables, dragon-affecting spells, short prefabbed cutscenes involving dragons, dragon-themed visual effects, dragon sounds (also good for dinosaurs), prefabbed dragon NPCs (with interesting descriptions, conversations, etc.), prefabbed dragon-related items (with nice descriptions and history to go with any properties).

Elven Stuff: Sure, there are a few weapon models already available, and a suit of elven chain armor (a robe) out there, but what of everything else for surface (non-drow) elves?  Graceful statues and artwork, organic-looking weapons, houses grown from large trees, elven fortifications, elaborate crystalline structures, elf-style furniture, ethereal music, nature-themed cloaks, artistically carved wooden shields, additional small animals as familiars/companions, holy symbols tied to FR and non-FR elven deities, prefabbed items made by elves (with descriptions, history, etc.), prefabbed elven NPCs (with interesting descriptions, conversations, etc.), and anything else elf-ish.  Not just recolors of existing drow stuff...the surface elves need some stuff to call their own.

The Bazaar: Market time!  Merchant stalls, placeable wares of all sorts, sounds, prefabbed NPCs to fill the bazaar (both selling and buying), scripts for dealing with thieves, scripts for stealing, scripted bartering systems, entertainment (jugglers, firebreathers, sword swallowers, performing bards, etc.), merchants with inventory that changes over time, NPC pickpockets, prefabbed items for merchants to sell (with nice descriptions, not everything needs to be valuable or magical).  Things to help bring a market or bazaar to life and provide more variety.

Mirror, mirror on the wall...
A call for mirrors and other interior decor items. Both the mystical magical type of mirror and the mundane...From funhouse mirror mazes to elegant elven couches... this is a very open theme. I would request though that we try to supply items that don't already have alot of coverage already, such as barrels, for example. Instead, a ladies jewelry box or a table with a half completed sewing project.

Happily Ever After...
Fairy tale theme. From our favourites to obscure lore, no limits on this. Could be expanded to include actual fairies and monsters from myth. Jabberwocky anyone?

Size does matter....
Things may appear bigger or smaller than actual size. Some ideas: A tileset that makes the PC look tiny, with giant tables and chairs the pc can scale like a mountain. Or... Miniature tables and chairs (child's tea set size), etc.

If you have any edits or additions to my suggestions, feel free to add whatever you want, Rolo.

Elven Stuff is a good submission... I've really had to hunt through the vault for anything to fit my view of elven placeables and interiors. Would like to see some elven clothing too... loosely draped diphoneous fabric, or woodsy leathers for wood elves...

<speculating in the general...>

Hmmm, Dwarven stuff would be good too. Or Orc stuff, or halfling...

Amethyst Dragon, would you consider diluting your entry a tad to Player Race enhancements? Or some such?

I, of course, wouldn't dream of twisting your arm *eyes those mighty limbs*, but it might draw in creators who want to make things for dwarves or gnomes or whatever and don't care too much for the Fae Folk...
