I've seen some mixed messages, but I've heard that PC still plays like a tactical experiance. Does that mean a PC player couldn't treat it like more of an action RPG, like the console version is said to play like?

I'm not sure they've said an awful lot about the PC versions combat as of yet... all I know is that they're (Bioware) modifying combat for the consoles to better suit the controllers. I recall a few people saying that DA2 on PC will keep it's tactic battles whilst still being more intense than DAO. However, there will be rare instances of "over the top" battles, like when Varric is recounting a tale of Hawke to Cassandra.

Believe, it was an IGN article I was reading on the combat...
They said that there was three different buttons to hit that would each swing the sword differently, then if you hold down one of the triggers, and hit one of the same, it opens up an addition three swings (like a thrust, horizontal slash, vertical, etc...). Which begs the question.. What will happen with the special abilities? (example - Overpower) Will they be gone? Or is it going to turn into a button combo system to initiate a special move?
On the side.. They also mentioned as Hawke was slashing through enemies, limbs were coming off. They mentioned something about only seeing the enemies ankles standing before you as a possibility.

Maybe the attacks are the abilities like DA1 ie whirlwind backstab etc keyed to those slots like a fighter character for the demo. That would seem reasonable and explain the time to regen just like the original. They need that for the mage as 6 spells would suck.
