I'm wondering if anyone knows any PWs that requires spelling and grammar, or atleast have them.

We're based on Forgotten Realms and Planescape, and require the latest CEP to play. Check for World Serpent Inn under roleplay in the gamespy listing... or just look over the website in my siggy link.
Cheers!

Our Staff AND Base try to insure that and while we have many mechanics to help it is really up to the player to help it along as well. Character driven is a good view of our server though I have often heard brutal but rewarding as well...
Here are some other links to things we have here and there to get a better idea on WHO we are.
First Thread
Tech Stuff
Silver Marches Forum
We are an older PW that was rebuilt by a few crazy dedicated numbskulls and it seems word of mouth has gone out and we find ourselves with about 5 to 20 people logging in daily. Hopefully the trend stays to the point we soon have 20 people on all the time. Would be ideal though we could hanlde more but then would have to seriously upgrade our Staff.
We are very close to Pen and Paper in rules and use only the CEP as our hak. We have swimming, teleport, deity and domains. We have Timed, Exploration and even Player Awarded XP. Heck...we have too much to list here.
We are based in the Forgotten Realms area of the Silver Marches. No...at the moment we do not allow drow as our Underdark is not in and really...not sure if we could handle a bunch of Drizzit clones running around at the moment.
Crafting, new spells…so many different fun little bits to see. Hope you take a look at our forums and our Site and let us know what you think. You can pm here or on the forums under the name DM Nojheim.

We have only been out for about three months, so our community is still very small.

As an example of a PW where proper grammar matters, there's my PW of choice, The World of Greyhawk. There are, of course, always going to be typos, but the builders are more than happy to fix them when brought to attention.
That said, I would suggest you narrow your focus a bit farther. How do you like to play?

We have recently re-launched the module, and are in the process of doing a major overhaul to the old server.
We are a relaxed and understanding group, looking for eager and creative role play fanatics.
The player base is very very small, mostly just the three of us staff members at the moment, but we hope to attract any and all players looking for a comfortable and versitile RP environment.
Check out our forums, and then check out the server if you like.

Here's our forum link: (http://www.createfor.../greyhawklords2) We use CEP2 and a couple small and judiciously chosen haks.
It was a quite successful PW back when NWN first was a big splash and we're trying to revive it. We like to focus on stories and player driven plots. We're currently organizing it so that evil characters can start in the drow city (based on the one in "Vault of the Drow" circa 1979ish).
Since we're more or less on the ground floor with this project we haven't achieved critical mas. You may not see 25 people on at any given time. <_< Post on the forum or message me here for the best times to get a group going. Builders/Scripters are also encouraged to drop by.

The world of Markshire incorporates the Norse mythos into a medieval DnD type setting. The world is 20 years in the making, having been the primary pen and paper world of the admins/creators. Overall, I think the world provides a great setting, yet also is flexible enough to incorporate many types of characters as the players see fit.
The world it low magic, slower levelling, and as I said RP focused (in character speech is exactly that, in character - though no one will run you off the server if you accidentally use the talk channel while bantering with your friends.
Really the best thing about Markshire is the community of people who play there. Everyone from the admins to the DMs to the players are awesome, and really most interested in creating a world in which to develop characters and storylines, while having fun. Markshire won a Reviewer's Award from the Vault. Although the review is a bit old, many of the active players at that point remain, as does the DM/admin team. I'd say it will give you a pretty good feel for what the place is like.
More detailed info on the required haks, the server guidelines, the scripts in use, and the setting can be found either at the main website (register in order to see all the forums). More information can also be found on the Vault page.
So, hope to see you in the Kingdom of Ice! Bring your warmest cloak!

I think you might be interested in this one. We are a roleplaying community, a persistent world based off of the setting that I created some seventeen years ago when I first discovered the joy of playing Dungeons & Dragons. That said, some of the concepts I use are quite a bit more grown up than what you typically find in said game.
It is a world that was born from the balance between the cosmic forces of live and death, a primary goddess and god who embody the faerie and underworld realms, respectively. Creativity and new life flows from the Bright Lady into the memory held by the Pale Lord. This balance between the lovers was damaged though, by the rise of the Skull King and the undead. The ancient war against the undead saw the death of the sun itself and a mortal rise to take its place. The undead were put down at last. But that was a thousand years ago, and they rise again now.
A Tale of Bone and Steel is a persistent world drawing inspiration from various forms of animism, Celtic and Norse legends, the stories of Conan, and other sources. It is a heroic world with elements of horror mingled in.
Grab the haks, please, and log in some time. We're trying to build our player base at the moment, and welcome new players. Also, I tend to have my non-player characters speaking in narrative format, without asterixes around their actions. There are some of us who like to see some grammar out here on the internet!

I extend this personal invitation to you to visit my server. It is a dedicated server, online 24x7 - you can DIRECT CONNECT at 66.232.100.90 anytime. The server is listed under ROLE PLAY on GAMESPY. It is in late beta test and features many enhancements for each character class (rangers can track, scavenge for food, hide in trees, more) - each class has been boosted with minor 'rounding out the class' abilities. Come see why your fav class is better here!
We are looking for more DMs - currently we have over a half dozen. There are more than 1500 PLAYERS listed in our servervault - growing by more than 50 per month and more than half of the new folks come back! 1100+ areas to explore. Flying, swimming, climbing and more!
Hope to see you online.
Personal tours by request.
Be well. Game on.

We've been running a PW since early 2000 and I've been playing there since 2005. I've been addicted to the community, the RP, and lastly the game itself ever since I started. In depth characters and RP keeps me coming back wanting more.

And no worries. I could show you around myself. Hope you got some ways of communicating like MSN, Skype or X-Fire.
Check out my signature and the link to the NWN1 Community on X-Fire. Lots of tips on good servers there.

Hi. I'm thinking about replaying NWN1 with all of its expansions. After that I'd like to try this PW multiplayer. Thing is, I'm a complete noob in this regard. What is it like playing like this? Is it similar to MMO-s, or is it something like a PnP game on computer?
It really depends on the server you go to. Some of the Action servers (and some super-large RP servers) feel like an MMO with less rping and more killing monsters. Some of the smaller RP servers definately have been built to have a PnP feel, with lots of dice rolls for lore and whatnot as you explore.
You're welcome to try our server, our veteran players have helped quite a few 'noobs' understand the game better.

Thanks for the help, I'll definitely visit your servers.
You'll also want to download CEP to visit many of the servers these days.
Links and info on this page, and if you scroll down there's a list of favourite override haks. Makes the whole game look much better graphically, and more modern.
Have fun!
