Jowan (I know a lot of people hate him, but I'm curious as to what he gets up to after Redcliffe)
A hearty me too! My main character is a mage, so this mook's been with me from the beginning.
Oh and maybe Connor.
This could definitely be an opportunity for a short sidequest that would go one of a few ways depending on the imported save.

I thought about that too, but considering that (in my playthrough) he becomes Lord, and later Arl of Redcliffe, I don't particularly see him venturing much outside of Ferelden.
Still, would be nice to see him again.

Well we won't be in Ferelden, right? So I guess the Highwayman from Lothering is out. For party members I NEED more Oghren
Well actually, you had the option to make the Highwaymen scram, and I guess since they're outlaws they're not very picky in terms of which countryside to harass.
It IS possible, no?

The ruler of Ferelden, whoever that might be. It would be interesting to see Hawke in a negotiation/strategic situation with that ruler, either allying his/her self, or potentially acting against them.

I'm telling you errant_knight this game will play out like "Braveheart" where you end up defending the Free Marches against the invading forces of Ferelden. That's what they meant when they say they want a "300" feel to it.
Heh, maybe so, although that will make game choices rather easy. 'Let's see, what will help Ferelden win....'
Perhaps you are fending off the Qunari, or Imperium?

I think it was Mike Laidlaw (or one of the devs) who dropped a pretty big hint that Alistair would be in the game in at least a cameo role. He was talking about talking to a fan who had an I love Alistair t-shirt on and returning characters and said something along the lines of "I don't think you will be disapointed" to her. So definately not confirmation, but IMO I think there is a very high chance of it. Not just from this comment either, A LOT of fans would like to see it.bzombo wrote...

Actually, it was a forumite who related overhearing this conversation. Mike Laidlaw himself hasn't commented on it. Still, I'm pretty sure we'll see Alistair.

It wouldn't be as difficult as with many characters. There are only two endings where Alistair couldn't show up, and neither are very widely used. Or he could have just meant that he has a cameo if you made him king, because the odds are good that the fan in the Alistair T-shirt did so. That's even simpler.Malanek999 wrote...

Heh, just had an amusing notion. If they really wanted to capitalize on the popularity of the character, they could have it that if Alistair left or was exiled, where he goes to the Free Marches, he could be recruited by Hawke and romanced if Hawke is female.

I really wanted to like Jowan. His lame refusal to join you when you offer it down in the Red-cliffe dungeons was pretty annoying though.distinguetraces wrote...

As far as random characters, that woman from Awakenings who calls Wynne names in the Wending Wood. She was a riot and I want to demand her as a companion for DA2. (I had to go look her up - Ines the Botanist).

Actually, it would be pretty cool to find Alistair as a drunk hobo in DA2.
That's sort of what I was thinking. And Starkhaven is in the Free Marches, right?

A grown-up Connor might be cool. So would an escaped Jowan. So would (sigh) Bann Teagan.
Really, though, I don't care so much if I see anyone from DAO; it might feel weird. This is Hawke's story. A scene or two with the ruling power of Ferelden might be awesome, though. I'd like to see the difference--Anora alone vs. Alistair alone vs. both.
