I think it would be cool to see Wynne's son in DA2 either as an NPC or a companion to Hawke.  Wynne converses with Alistair and talks about having a son, giving him up, and imagining him to be like Alistair.  Both are the same age.

just more speculating fun perhaps we will never know?

update: its not Anders

If her son is anything like Wynne then God no. I hate her. Always asking me how I feel. And wanting to play mother. Look lady I'm a man, give me bottle to drown my sorrows in I don't need to talk about them. Because they're none of your [darn] business.

haha, I doubt they would make him like Wynne especially since he was raised by the chantry. I would like to think that he could be a Templar but not whiny like Alistair.

I sort of agree. I mean, not entirely cos I liked Wynne, thought she fulfilled that role well (plus I'm a woman, so I don't get annoyed by emotions); but if Wynne's son appeared and started doing the same thing, he'd be on the fast track to a slap. Unless he was really, really sweet and charming of course, in which case I'd forgive him and we'd be best friends.

i bet wynne outlives everyone else in DAO, DAO2 etc anyway and if she didnt die meanwhile she is still ranting about her ongoing death. ;-)

i really like her though. she was like a tutor for my roleplayed characters like a city elf which didnt knew anything about the world or ehtics before meeting her.
its a super balanced char which brings realism into the general char setup. just a wild bunch of badasses does not really represent a viable world.
In ME2 there are also such "not just badass but has multiple facettes guys" although even richer character like mordrin.

Well, not all men are annoyed by emotions. I quite liked her. I wouldn't mind seeing what became of her son. I really doubt he'd act like an old lady trying to mentor a young hero though.

I think Wynne's son would be around his forties, personally. Wynne is in her sixties or seventies (do we have any confirmation on her age) I'd guess, and I imagine she had the kid when she was young and stupid, and around twenty.

Personally, I think he'd contribute nothing to the game except be a contrived coincidence cameo. Also, Wynne was my least favorite companion.

How would we ever know it was him? Wynne herself never knew where he went and I doubt he would know who his mother was other than maybe "a Circle mage".

Oh, I'm sure if it were him, BioWare'd put in a metric ton of coy references and tongue-in-cheek comments so we'd all go mad with speculation.

Heh, the emotions thing was more a response to Slidell :). If Wynne's 'sympathetic nature' was partly genetic, her son could have it too, though

Like the Anders possibility. Wouldn't object to him being around. He was snarky, I liked him!

Yes. She talks about him in party banter with Alistair. He was taken by the chantry when he was born (which is apparently SOP when mages have children) and she has no idea what became of him.

And yes, she has a child with a mage time ago, but the babye it's taken by the chantry

But seriously... Wynne could teach the secret origin of the robes to Anders..

You can't be a mage to trigger this, since it comes about by him saying Wynne is the first mage he's ever liked. Other than that, I don't know why you never got it.
