Copy the entire cookedPC folder to somewhere else (I put it into the umodel folder for convenience) then export with umodel. You get the higher res textures that way.

When I apply an animation I keep ending up with something like this: dl.dropbox.com/u/21265292/garrus%20anim%20problem.png Does anyone know what's going wrong and how I can fix it?

This might be a little impossible, but I was wondering if someone with these programs could extract the texture used for Miranda's Alternate Appearance visor? I am planning to make a cosplay visor and I need the HUD display to manufacture a HUD onto my pseudo visor for the cosplay. I am having a hard time finding good reference photos of the visor (and I can't dig through the game files like I could for KOTOR). Many thanks if this can be done.

First of all lovely tutorial and set of tools you have here. works like a charm. i'm in the process of making an animation and i'm using Miranda as the main character. however i cannot for the life of me find any kind of walking animation for any of the characters. i've gone over the list multiple times trying to find the correct file to extract. anyone have any idea where to find just the basic animations like walking etc ?

First of all, thank you very much for your tutorial! It helped alot to get started with 3ds max. (I started from nowwhere). And sorry to respond to such an old post, but my problem is the same as recently described above: All my extracted textures are only 32x32. I tried to copy the whole CookedPC folder to an alternative directory, but it changed nothing. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Recently I got another problem with the ActorXimporter: As soon i load a second model into 3dsmax (when I have posed already another one), it resets the first one automatically to the spawn point. Really depressing... Any help?

SOLVED: To export full textures I had to export directly from the original files. No idea where's the difference if I export from the copies. At least it works. And to solve the Import problem with 3Dsmax, you just need to copy the imported model once and delete the original imported model. I hope it works for you too.

Second: i can't find Shepard models...
Third: is it possible export my Female Shepard's customized model?

First: you mean the psa files? what exactly is the error?
Second: Well, Shepard Models are in BioG_HMM_andsoon (Male) or BioG_HMF_  (Femshep)
Third: I haven't found a way yet.

I hope I could at least help with the shepard model!

I have an obvious noob problem. When I use the "unmodel" command, I get the line stating: "unmodel is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. So what stupid thing am I doing? Or what am I not doing?

Great tut, I'm used to using the md5 method but this just gives me more options if need be :) I'm having a problem of sorts and wondering if anyone would know how or where or what the from ashes dlc files are... Going through the cookedpcconsole I found the Prothean 00 model, which was Javik, but I can't find the from ashes particle rifle ANYWHERE... Can anyone help?
PS. I'm using these to create templates and make replicas from the game :)

Everyone in the game uses the same diffuse eye texture, and the color is changed in-game. This is what you're looking at.

You'll either have to take the flat texture and color it in an editing program like Photoshop, or you can do in 3DS using masks-->This tutorial covers a method on how to do it.

As far as glossiness, adding the spec maps and stuff should help. There's probably other ways, I'm not terribly familiar with 3DS tbh. I'm using it to port models into xnalara, and textures there are used a bit differently.

I'm having trouble extracting from ME2, with ME3 I can do it just fine... But when I go through the CMD prompt, despite it seeming to work, no folder is extracted... Or am I missing something?

I wonder if it is possible to use the materials (.mat files) as well? I am not really sure how to use them with Autodesk, cause when I load them as a material library, nothing happens. Is there another way to get to all the materials and textures? I felt like some of them are missing, especially glass textures....

Anyone else having a problem actually applying the materials to the model? I can apply colors, but not the materials.

When I select the model, and choose to apply the material to the selected object it "looks" like it's applying but the model remains primer grey.
