I have very little bad to say about Dragon Age, but my main complaint is that when you finished the main game your character just stopped.  Sure there was DLC but if wanted to play that specific character then you would have to re-make them and level them up again.

What I'd like to see is a New Game+ option where you start the game again but all your skills, weps and armor carry over into a new play through.

Anyone else with me?

Not really. In ME it makes more sense since you're supposed to be elite at the start, but DA2 seems to be a rags to riches kind of story.

Given that there's a central origin for Hawke as opposed to the 6 original origins that drove replayability for DAO, I don't think it'd be a bad thing to have a New Game+ option (but then I tend to enjoy New Game+ options).

I approve.
It increases replay.....IF you idk...give us something extra...like we keep our attributes but not our skills/talents/level.
I would like this very much.
We need to keep replay high.
Or I will stop buying.
For story alone does not sustain my interest.

If they're scaling everything anyway, implementing this might be almost free.NG+ is pretty stupid, but as long as it doesn't take much resources there's no reason to oppose it.

New Game + is done very well in games like Vagrant Story and Demon's Souls.

VS in particular has it so in NG+ you get access to new areas, an area where you can fight all the bosses again (and get a chance at rare items!) and is the only way to build the most powerful items in the game.

It wouldn't work in DAO because there are no new areas, items or enemies. Once you played the game you've seen everything there is to see.

Demon's Souls NG+ isn't quite as rich as Vagrant Story, but it's there mostly because the game's combat is so fun and challenging, that making it 20% harder is pretty insane.

Also you can only build the best items in NG+ or NG++.

But it's not quite as nice as Vagrant Story

My first experience with New Game + was with Chrono Trigger which was mostly there for the variety of endings you could get.

Most of the time I played through all the way, as I just enjoyed playing the story. Which is the appeal to New Game + (and probably why I played ME1's NG+ option so much).

I see no reason why a NG+ should not be done.

i approve of this as well.

it would enhance the replayability by a good margin.

Eh, different strokes for different folks, new game+ adds nothing to my enjoyment of a game. That being said, as long as it doesn't take meaningful resources away from other areas of development I don't oppose it.

No game+ for me as it would take the toolset away.

If we have a toolset you can make Hawke have any talents and weapons at any time frame in the game.

I have doubts they will release toolset.

Not sure why the toolset would be taken away just because of a NG+ option and the toolset isn't terribly useful to console players whereas a theoretical NG+ could be used by all editions of the game.

I think that would be awesome. There is never a problem with more options. Even if people don't want it they don't have to use it. For those of us that love our PC and just want to run with them again it would be perfect.

Until they hand you overpowered gear from the start for having DLC. :P

I'm not a fan of NG+, though I don't object to its implementation. I wouldn't use it, but if it makes other people happy, more power to 'em.

I agree it would not be useful to console players and if new game+ was in the game that is fine as long as there was a toolset for pc.

it would certainly be fun at least for me to replay the story with the character i've been building instead of creating a new one. i sorta feel attached to the character i've been with if that makes sense.

Do you mean like they did in ME1?  You start a new game and pick load character and the Shepard you had just finished was available for a new game starting at Eden Prime?  I only did it once and then got rid of it, but I think your equipment did carry over to the new game.

Personally, I would just as soon start a new game with a new character.  But I know a lot of people enjoyed using the same one and don't see any reason that couldn't be done in any of their games.

I'm for a NG+, but with restrictions. Your equipment shouldn't transfer, at least not unique items. That would be weird. In Mass Effect that was not a problem, because the equiment was generic, all the same with just better stats. But if everyone wears Cailan's Armor and Starfang, that's silly.

But i would really like to use characters again and to be able to use a wide arsenal of spells and talents from the start.

I would like that too. Someone said that DA is about starting from rags to riches but remember than Duncan recruits talented people so in this case; your character would be a better fighter than Duncan. Maybe they could have done it where you get your armor and weapons after you finish Ostagar and in DA2 is could be the same. After you finish the prologue after beginning a new a game as the same character; you regain your items. Also with difficulty modes; it would add replay-ablity and since there is a lv cap, this means that for the final difficulty where enemies are all high level (They could do that, then that way it adds replay value as the same character), they will always pose a challenge to you. Other times you can play the game on easy and have fun killing enemies with ease and tackling enemies that posed a threat to you like they are nothing.

This is what I like about good RPGs. You become attached to your character, so of course it makes sense and is another reason why I want an option to play as the same character again. They did it in ME so why not in DA2? Such a choice to have an option like that is obviously not unpopular.

Given DA:O had level scaling it always made me sad that we couldn't play through the entire game scaled to our level 20something characters. In fact because of level scaling, I find it really boring and pointless having to level up to access all the cool abilities.

Yeah, this.

Part of the fun is the struggle, I suppose it appeals to our hunter gatherer instincts :P or something. Once you are as good as invincible, whats the point in killing for money and xp? What will be the motivation. Besides people will complain how easy the game is and declare the end of Bioware.
