heyas;
i've done the tutorials on making a level (well, from one pre-made) and creatures, etc. and i've downloaded/looked at the demo module. but i still do not understand some simple, basic concepts. (maybe not so simple?)
how do you load an area from the game -- the actual game -- and change something in it? for example, the lovely camp storage chest download. can someone make a tutorial on adding something like that to the camp area? i have no idea how to FIND the camp area. how do you open it? how do you put things in it? where do you find the creatures in it -- the companions and the npcs? how do you find creatures from the game and stick them in an area? (like, say, brankha, or loghain, etc.)
it's still noodling around with basic stuff, but i could create something a tad more useful than a hut full of rats to kill on a quest, ya know? and, oh yeah, MOST importantly.... how to do all that and not blow up your game. :X

i guess a bunch of beginner tutorials (such as the Noob to Pro tutorial) focus on making new modules... and I agree theres not a wealth of step-by-steps on tweaking the DAO module. Essentially, you can modify it by loading the single player campaign and exporting the changes you make, or better yet... make a new module and choose to extend the single player campaign (also include it in the hierarchy)
With finding resources, its often just a case of browsing for them. with the camp, there are technically like 4 camp areas from memory... the main one and three encounter-type ones.
As far as "not breaking your game"... generally just delete anything youve exported and it will revert to DA stuff, so you're pretty safe to learn by experimentation.
just try stuff and ask specific questions in the forums if you get stuck. you'll pick it up with a bit of toying around. I know its not the tutorial you're asking for but i hope it helps.
