I absolutely hate not being involved in any conversation scenes; I'm about ready to give up caring what my character's faces look like, and instead work only on the back of their necks.
I highly doubt, when pitching the idea, a wave of shock rushed over the BioWare team about hiring another voice actor.

I for one welcome the change. It was strange sometimes to see your character standing there with a blank expression on his face. But anyway, there won't be as much of a difference as you think. There will still be 6 different choices for you to choice from.

When I say we I mean me and the few other people that didn't like this system. Why do I need to hear my PC speak? It will make him say same things over and over when there is nothing new a person can say and irate me to no end

I didn't like Mass Effect. I didn't likear hearing my PC speak. Now we have a Mass Effect like system most likely with limited choices in how we respond. Why couldn't they keep the PC silent. I don't understand the need to pay in voice actors for something we didn't want changed
so when your PC spoke in DAO, did you cover your ears?

who is we? you have a mouse in your pocket or something?
Believe we had 5 choices in every convo. in DA:O and it's already been stated that we will have 5 choices in DA:2 so what is the argument here?

he probably means the little voice quips your Warden shouted when entering battle, or on low HP, or after getting up from KO

I for one hated my character not being voiced in the original and welcome that change. The new dialogue is still something I need to see more of before I decide how I feel about it.

You better start liking it, seeing how ME is so popular and even getting its own movie, it's no surprises they will want to do this with all their games as well.
This statement makes BioWare owners/employees sound stupid.
"Wow, this game is popular, it must because of every little thing we had in this game! Let's add more asari to more BioWare games!"
I think they know ME is popular, and most of that popularity is due to the story and not because of the wheel. The wheel is simply a system that BW found that works and are now implementing it into DA2 to give a more cinematic feel. It's not because of ME's popularity, but because it is a tool they find that works for them.

Your dialogue options will be no more limited than in DA:O. They're just putting the options in a circle instead of a list.Joshd21 wrote...

I don't understand why so many people prefer the mute, expressionless PC anyway. I don't think it's having a voice that worries so many, I think it was the fact that in ME, the spoken dialogue didn't match up with the paraphrases. The thing is, though, there's a totally different team working on DA2, and they are well aware of the complaints people had with ME. I see no reason to assume they'll make the same mistake. Plus they have the little tone markers to make up for it.
I mean, if you'd rather use your imagination, then why not just play Zork and imagine the graphics too?

Oh, you meant the player character.
Yeah, there is no "we" on this matter. Granted, I like being able to select individual lines of dialogue, but since the character IS partially set in stone (no offense to dwarves), I don't object to him having a set voice a la Commander Shepard.

I'll glad we're getting the dialogue wheel for one. Maybe my character will display some emotion now.

For reals yo. It would be nice for the characters to be able to show something besides that weird shocked look after Duncan kills Jory.Rogue Unit wrote...

Very well said!
I for one do not believe Dragon Age is just becoming another Mass Effect, Dragon Age is still Dragon Age. Why complain about new improvements? You (OP) act like all you want is a carbon-copy of DA:O, if thats what you want, then play DA:O. They'll still be releasing new content for it for some time to come. You have nothing to worry about in that regard.
I for one am pleased to see that they're doing new things with the franchise, at least they aren't just letting it stagnate and give us the same experience in a new shiny package. Whether I'll enjoy all of the new changes or not remains to be seen, but they've barely scratched the surface of the game, why start judging it already?
