DA is set in a huge world as we now know and will witness in the upcoming games. To have such a huge world and limit it with loading screens is a shame indeed. We know DA2 will possibly be the same, loading from place to place. Ever tavern you enter must be loaded into, every place you go, you will load into. Well DA was a fun experience and there is no doubt in my mind DA2 will be. We know there is going to be different art styles for the north in Free Marches as it stands. I think if they keep up the change in style for each game, then you'd have a bunch of cultures resting there in the palm of your hands.
With that being said, DA2 is going for a Conan feel with it's armor and land. My god, I love it too. Especially if they can set each game in a different place and change it up each time. It was stated that Orlais (hope I spelled it right) was a place of exquisite taste. If we do dwelve there, then we'll certainly see that.
After they are finished with the DA series, they could direct it to an MMO. Now I know you might be thinking, wow the second game is barely coming out and such, but it seems as though BioWare has created a thriving fantasy world that if made explorable completely with different looks to each part of the world you entered, would really just capture a majority of people. I like the thought of playing with my DA friends in all of these places, not boggled by loading screens and exploring what BioWare has created.
With a different living and breathing community to each place you go that is completely different without repetitive tasks that you've already done because of the differences, it'd be great. Completing quests with your friends and when you get that armor from whatever region, you know that you can't get it anywhere else because that is how the place is, that's their style.
I'd like to see an MMO come out of DA or DA2 being a huge open world like Oblivion.
I know it isn't BioWares cup of tea, and you never really see a way of transportation from one place to the next aside from a loading screen or walking, aside from Jade Empire when you used the Marvelous Dragonfly. I really think BioWare could pull off an open world that is fully explorable and would like to see that for DA2, but I doubt it'll happen at this point in time. I know an MMO sounds crazy, even to me it does. With DAs flawless combat imho and all the choices you get. What I am really hoping for most from BioWare is a fully exploration of Thedas in a future game and all of it's neighboring places. That'd be a great task, that I am sure would take over a year to do. So for now I am hoping and preying on something close to that at best.
DAO DA2 advancing further
